Easter Weekend

We hope you all had a fabulous Easter Weekend. I know we did!
Cody had Good Friday off of work, so we got to work fixing up our yard.  We cut down about 10 more bushes and random trees along the side of our house. Removed 12 wheel barrel loads of wood chips from our back yard (I KNOW, I COUNTED! I DID ALL 12 MYSELF!) we still need to take a good 5 or so more out. We removed a good 50 or more river rock from the front yard and and tilled it up and moved the dirt around to level it out some.
We also tilled up a spot for our garden and tilled up the back yard.  We are already to plant grass and we are kicking ourselves for not doing it on Friday as well (we were tired!) it has rained good and hard the last few days and it would of been so helpful if the grass had been planted. Oh well!!!

These are my boys first thing Easter Morning.  Kevin is finally going to bed all on his own and sleeping in his own bed til 5ish.  Then he comes in our room.  By 5 am I don't care anymore, he is usually up for good between 6 and 7 anyway. He however still has his hair fedish. When he gets in bed I tell him not to touch my hair, so he snuggles up close to Daddy to play with his.

Julia is NOT aloud and will NEVER be aloud to sleep with us. She is a WILD sleeper. Holy Smokes!!! She has learned to kick her wall. I just scooted the pack n play out so I can't hear it anymore, but I'm afraid I'll walk in one day to find her out of the pack n play cause she has torn the side open.

Kevin and I colored Easter Eggs Saturday morning while Dad had a study group for school. It took a whole 3 minutes to color 20 eggs. Kevin was SPEEDY.  We then decorated them like monsters!!
Kevin thought it was crazy that I was letting him do such a thing.

Easter morning-
Kevin was super excited about his baseball hat. He has been wanting one, and dang they are HARD to find. We've looked EVERYWHERE.  Our Easter Bunny must be pretty smart!

Julia got a ball that you drop the shapes into.  I'm sure she'd love it, but Kevin plays with it anytime she gets near it!

The Easter Egg Hunt.  There were 30 eggs in all. You would have thought it were a chore. We had to keep BEGGING Kevin to get the rest of the eggs.

Julia sporting her Christmas PJs on Easter!  After our Easter Egg Hunt, we had our yearly Danish Pancake Breakfast with friends.  It was lots of fun and OH SO YUMMY!

After conference and dinner we had our Easter Lesson.  I'm in awe at how much Kevin understood.  We had a bunch of pictures and explained to Kevin what was happening.  When he talked to Blake on the phone a couple of hours later he said, "Jesus has owies."  He has asked us a few more times about Jesus's owies, we keep telling him that he is all better!  We really need to be better about family home evenings at his level. I didn't give him enough credit for how much he'd 'get!'

There is a park entrance .2 miles from our house.  These 2 little kids love swinging next to each other.  The entire time is filled with kicking legs and high pitched squeels.

These 2 pictures are currently my 2 fav pics. of my kids!!
While we were at the park yesterday Julia started waving. She is now a waving maniac. I love it! She also learned how to clap on Sunday and if anything is super exciting we get a good clap out of her!

Gramma Wi sent the kids an easter package with these work gloves in Kevin's size.  There was NO way we were getting them off of him.  Gramma's always know what their grandkids need. On friday while we were working Kevin kept crying because he wanted to wear the work gloves. We only had one pair and since I already had blisters I was wearing them.  We will No longer have such a problem!

I love my kids. I didn't tell you I had to wake them both up from their naps yesterday, I was so ANXIOUS to go play at the park while it was a warm 70 degrees.

How's our Dad you ask? He is a busy bee and not getting near enough sleep.  He stayed home from work again today. (this is his 3rd sick day this year, the last 3 years of working at Harely he ever only took 1!)
He has been sleeping the last 3 hours so hopefully he will be on the mend. The last thing I want is for this to roll through the family!

P.S. we are super excited about 2 upcoming events
1- Tyrel gets home on April 27th. He has a decent lay over in Chicago and I will be standing at the airport to see him, even if it is just for a second.
2- JD was accepted to Law School in St. Paul. We are still crossing our fingers for Marquette, but if need be we are more then excited they will only be 5 hours away!!!! (congrats!!!)

Sounds like a very exhausting weekend! Gavin is a crazy sleeper too. He is constantly kicking the wall. I moved his crib out and now he just kicks the crib! I am waiting for him to bust through one of these days!
