We've been hitting the rummage sales hard this year. It is a secret addiction that we both have.
(Cody's not willing to admit it yet, but on Saturday he came home and said, I saw 2 rummage sales, wanna go?)
Kevin ALSO loves rummage sales. When we got into the car, he asked where we were going and I said we're going to the next one. He new EXACTLY what 'the next one' was.
(we went to a neighborhood rummage and so after each house I'd drag him away from the toys and say, lets go to the next one!)
Just as we were walking out the door Kevin put a $1.00 in his pocket. And when he found out where we were headed asked if he could buy a toy.
Both sales were bombs (you win some you lose some) but the 2nd sale had this plastic guitar (Kevin is known for randomly playing his pretend guitar) and it was only 75 cents. And that was just what he wanted. He walked up to the lady and gave her a dollar. Had her put his change back into his pocket and as we walked away he strummed on his guitar, belted a tune, and did a little rock n roll dance. It was STINKING hilarious and well worth the 75 cents.
Just a few more funnies from the last few days-
We had lasagna for dinner on Friday and Julia had a noodle under her eye for most of the meal. Kevin thought it was hilarious and kept saying, Julia noodle eye!
-Julia's first top tooth popped through the other day! How exciting for her!-
After that, he wanted me to take a picture of him so he could see if he had a noodle on his face. He couldn't take my word for it!
On Friday morning when I was getting ready, Kevin kept yelling, MOM, I'm UP HERE! and I'd yell back UP WHERE? UP HERE!!! It went on for a minute or so. Finally he yelled COME SEE!
There he was playing in my NOT so orgainzed cupboard. (I love these cupboards. They hide all the toys and whatever other random thing that needs a home!)
He was pretty dang cute and very proud of his achievement.
Notice those gray shorts. My Mom bought them for him and sent them in the mail a couple of months ago. He wears them at LEAST 3 times a week. He begs to wear his shorts from Granny.
A few other funnies from the last few days-
-Julia was standing up against the couch (this is a relatively new thing) and Kevin walked in and said in the sweetest squeeky voice, "Julia you standenen up. I so proud, you so BIG!" It was by far the sweetest words ever.
-Kevin has started saying, OH MY GOODNESS and OH MY GOSH and OH MY WORD.
Usually when something happens worth using those phrases, he says all of them right in a row.
-Anytime I leave kidless, which isn't often, (but has happened a handful of times the last few days) when I get home Kevin says, Oh Mom, I missed you so much.
-Kevin's bedtime routine is weird, but it is working. We put him to bed with a sippy cup of water and read him a story. After the story we leave. He drinks his cup of water, comes out throws it in the sink gives us each a LUB and a HIGH 5 and then goes and climbs back into bed. (and usually plays for a bit. But I love when he comes and asks for his Lub!)
-A big accomplishment for Kevin. *I was amazed and excited and sad all at the same time. My boy is growing up!* The park entrance is 2/10 of a mile from our house. Kevin rode his bike from our house to the park then to the toys which is another 1/10 of a mile on a gravel pathway and back home again. When we were about 4 houses from being home he jumped off his bike and went potty in the grass. Then when we were at the neighbors house he stopped pedaling and said, Mom, I so Hot! (He puts a silly emphasis on So when ever he uses it! It cracks me up!)
-One last thing, I did NOT think I would be dealing with already. But it was pretty funny. Preface- In our house we refer to our private parts with the not so technical term 'PARTS.' Pretty plain and pretty simple! We were driving in the car and Kevin says, 'Mom, Julia and Mommy same parts and Kenan and Daddy same parts?' I was baffeled and muffling a laugh. Yes! 'Oh!!!! Mommy and Daddy different parts?' Again I was shocked. Yes! He replied with a long drawn out 'Ohhhhh!!!' He never said anything more.
But that night at dinner. Daddy wasn't home, he was looking under the table and counting. '1, 2, 3, and Daddy.' I asked him what he was doing and he said, 'I counting parts!' For whatever reason I thought I had awhile before I would be dealing with this.
