I am in the process of making 30 dozen cookies for youth conference.
If this is really scatter-brained, it is because I am back and forth! :)
Anyway--
Julia went in for her 1 year check up.
I know I've said it 1,000 times, but I still can't believe she is already 1.
Here are her stats...
She took a growth spurt this month, (in length anyway) she is 30 inches, putting her in the 77th Percent.
Weight, that's a totally different story.
She is now 16 lbs 13 oz. Which we are super excited about, but that only puts here in the 2nd Percent for weight. The doctors are going with genes on this one. They said to push the fruits and veggies and to keep her downin' the whole milk.
Kevin also had to have a doctors appointment. They wanted to re-check his iron levels. Sadly our nurse was out of town. She is AMAZING at her job. 2 other nurses attempted to draw his blood. The 4th time they poked him with no success he started crying. He was so brave and tough. I felt like crying with him.
A few days before Julia's birthday, we went down to the lake to watch the Water Ski Team.
They were awesome. This was their 2nd show of the season and they were great. I can't wait to see them at the end of the season.
The kids loved watching, but this is also the lake we go to to play in the water, they did NOT understand, nor like the fact that we would not let them get in the water!
Kevin was very intent on watching. He was yahooing, clapping, and yelling the entire time. It was so fun to watch the expressions on his face.
If I had my way, we would be at the lake watching the ski team every single Wednesday. (It's free and fun!) But, I don't get my way. Cody doesn't have the same love, but he has committed to going occassionally this summer, and so I'm happy!
As I mentioned before Julia's birthday day was kind of busy!
It started with swimming lessons for Kevin at 8AM!
He did awesome. All the kids were crying because they did not want to get in the water. Kevin was crying because we wouldn't let him 'DO IT MYSELF!'
Once he realized how things worked, he had a great time and can't wait to go back for more!
After swimming lessons, we let Julia open her presents!
The first being life jackets for both of them.
(I no longer have to be AS nervous at the lake!)
The 2nd being food for her 3rd present, the kitchen!
The kitchen was well worth the 8 bucks I spent on it at a yard sell. It has already had hours and hours of enjoyment!
Julia had an ice cream birthday party at the lake.
Of course the weather was CRUMMY. Requiring us all to wear jackets, stay out of the water, and shiver while we ate our cupcake filled ice cream cones.
The birthday girl!
Singing happy birthday.
Julia had just barely started to fall asleep. I had to hurry and blow out the candle and give her the ice cream to avoid a melt down!
Kevin and Tyler
Cody and I spent nap time taring out a bunch of trees and bushes out of our back yard. We are making an area with a border and wood chips where the swing set will sit.
It is a win win. We destoryed our bunny, squirrel, and bug home, perhaps my garden (that has a bunch of little sprouts in it) will survive now and we will be able to move the swing set so that our grass can live too!
We've had out of control rain today. Once it clears up I'll take a picture for you all to see. It will be very nice. I'm excited!
