Today is my Dear OLD Dad's birthday!
My Dad has taught me MANY valuable lessons in life.
I'm very grateful for my relationship with my Dad!
Since his Birthday is on the 8th
I'll list my 8 favorites!
1. These are my 2 very favorite pictures of my Dad with my kids. They will be treasured forever.
2. I'm grateful that my Dad has taught me how to work.
It is something I am trying to instill in my children.
If you know how to work you can be successful no matter what life throws at you.
As I've worked more and more with the youth I realize that teaching a child to be respectful is really lacking these days.
4. I'm grateful that I was blessed with my Dad's long legs!
5. I'm grateful for the time my Dad spent teaching me to carve a walking stick, mastering the art of shooting a bow and arrow, shot gun shooting, working in the garden, remodeling the basement, mowing lawns, camping, dirt biking, and washing the dishes (even when we had a dishwasher!) I feel that these things made me a very well rounded person.
6. I'm grateful Cody calls me John on occassion. Because more often then not I hear how much I look like, act like, and sound like my Mom! I'm grateful I have my Dad in me too!!!
7. One thing I miss about living in Idaho is that everyone knew I was an Oborn and I was proud of that. No one knows that out here, don't worry, I'm doing my best to make the name proud anyway!
8. I don't talk to my Dad on the phone very much. But I LOVE when he randomly calls to check on me. My heart always skips a beat and I always get chocked up especially at the end of our conversation when he says, "Love ya babe!" before hanging up!
Dad, I have a lot to be grateful for! Thanks for loving and supporting us. And, I should add a #9 Thanks for roofing our house. You really bailed us out there.
I hope you have the best birthday ever Daddy! I love you!
