Kevin's all time favorite treat
E.V.E.R.
is Rice Krispy Treats.
BUT,
in our house, they are called
STICKY CEREAL!
And, a pan of them lasts a day, if we're lucky!
Now,
Have you every seen the Star Bellied Sneetches?
We have the movie.
In the song one of the sad little sneetches that doesn't have a star sings the following words,
"Twinkle, Twinkle, Stupid Little Star!"
Of course, of the whole movie that is the phrase that was implanted in Kevin's brain.
Although, the definition of Stupid is not
-lacking or marked by lack of intellectual acuity, as it usually means when used.
This is how Kevin uses the word Stupid.
He is sitting on the counter while I cut him his 15th Sticky Cereal and says to me in the most excited 3 year old voice ever,
"Mom, these are Stupid Good!"
M-Stupid good?
K-Yah, Stupid Good?
M-How about Super Good?
K-Yah, Super Good too!
It was HI-LARIOUS! Oh my word, I thought I was going to die laughing.
You see, I have to tell you this story today because inside I want to die crying.
I need a reminder of the sweetness, cuteness, Innocent-ness of my little boy.
Today, I'd love to trade my 3 year old for a fish!
We went to play group today. It didn't end so well.
After Kevin ran into a little girl with a bike, then on his way over to sit in time out he wiped out a little 11 month old boy. Which resulted in a longer time out.
After time out I told him, you may now go play, BUT you lost your bike privilege, and told him which toys he could play with.
He screamed a LOUD, NASTY, Blood curdling scream.
I took him in the hall, talked to him, and had another time out.
We were under control, walked back into the gym, where he started screaming, kicking, flailing, all over the place.
I then informed my little monster that we would now be leaving.
I put his coat and boots on him, went to round up our toys while he screamed and un dressed himself.
I returned and rebooted him.
While I grabbed the Princess he unbooted.
I grabbed his hand and informed him he would now be walking to the car with no coat and no shoes.
I left him in the foyer of the church while I buckled Julia and put our toys in the car.
I walked back to get him with his coat and boots and he refused to put them on, all the while whaling and kicking. So, he walked in the snow/ice in 20 degree weather to the car with no shoes or coat on.
We were supposed to meet friends at our house for lunch. Kevin was fed a hot dog and put to bed.
I was quite proud of my self. I kept my cool the whole time.
But, once I tucked him safe into bed,
I cried.
I'm grateful the good out weighs the bad 99% of the time.
But oh boy, this little guy has caused me some stress the last few weeks.
Here's to a better evening!
(I think Cody thinks I've lost it! The kids are gems when he is home!)

That's how it is at our house!! The kids are a million times more naughty when dad's not around, so I don't think he believes my stories about the rest of the day. Good job staying cool (and the natural consequence!) Miss your face.
Oh, story of my life. I think this early 3 age is brutal. Way to go with sticking to the consequences. I know that can be hard sometimes. And, I'm with both you and Whitney about how good they are when dad comes home. Ahh!
