**TMI** For those who care about baby progress, read this first paragraph, for those who don’t, SKIP it!** On Monday, July 25, I went in for a regular doctor appointment and learned that I was dilated to a 3 and 50% effaced. On Wednesday the 27, contractions were off an on most of the day, about 4:00 they started coming every 4 minutes, at 6:30, I called our friends to take the kids and headed into the hospital. By 10:30, I was dilated to a 5. Contractions were quite painful, but since I’m hoping to not get an epidural this time, I turned it down when they offered and instead took Cody up on the offer of a Priesthood Blessing. In the blessing, he blessed Lacey that she would have the time she needed to grow and fully develop before she was born. (I knew right then we weren’t having a baby that night. I was barely 36 weeks.) Contractions continued between 4 and 6 minutes apart until 5 AM when they just STOPPED. SERIOUSLY!?!? So we went home. Monday, August 1, I went in for another regular doctors appointment and learned that I am now dilated to a 6+, 80% effaced and a –1. The doctor patted me on the back as I was leaving and said, “I hope you can get to the hospital fast when the time comes!” Thanks DOC! I’m 37 weeks today, which is the big day we were holding out for. Today, I felt the urgency to get everything else in order. I packed the kids’ bag to go to our neighbors house, I did 5 loads of regular laundry, I washed all the kid’s shoes (that’s weird, who does that!) And then I started stripping beds and washed all of our bedding. I also did all the ironing, cleaned out several of my kitchen cupboards and got rid of dishes we never use and don’t need. I also finished up a 200 page scrap book and got it ordered. I straightened the rest of the house, cleaned out Julia’s clothes, and ended up with a big stack of goods for the goodwill. Took the kids outside to play and then made dinner… twice. Apparently my young children are growing. They ate a normal dinner at 5 and at 6:30, I fed them a whole other meal. I had a total of maybe 10 contractions all day. Apparently little Lacey is just content where she is at. I’m perfectly content with her growing and developing a little more, she is just causing me a LOT of pain!!! Thankfully, today was a MUCH better day then yesterday.**
ENOUGH about that… onto the goods.
Can I tell you how much I love getting pictures of my nieces and nephews via text. It makes my day!!! The first is my Maddie Pie, the 2nd is Samuel. He’s coming to my house soon!!! I love this picture of him. It looks almost identical to one my Mother has of me. I also have pictures of my nephews Grayson and Noah, but I can’t get them to come off of my phone. The 3rd picture, my niece Lucy. I love saying, I Love Lucy!!!’ She calls us, all the time and our kids love talking to her on the phone.
Julia is in a, '”No, I Do it MINE SELF” stage. It drives me NUTS. If I try to help her she screams at me, if I don’t help her then she’s mad that I didn’t help her. I can’t win, Really, I can’t!
Kevin is growing like a weed. He put on some of his pants today and they are near high waters on him. He’s my BFF and has to know what I’m thinking and why I’m smiling, and why I did that this way and why why why I do everything how I do it at all times of the day.
Our friends live just around the corner. We went and played in the water at their house the other day. The kids ran home barefoot. Julia ran home barefoot and almost bare bummed.
Kevin found a worm. He dug him up one day and was super excited. He kept telling me, “Mom, I found the coolest treasure!” Then he’d say to the worm in a cute little wormy voice, “Hi little wormy, you are so cute!” and then to top it off he give the worm a great big kiss. EWW!
Kevin and Julia had a blast at Uncle Rob and Aunt Heidi’s house when we stayed the night at the hospital. I was really worried about Julia, she’s still pretty apprehensive of new situations but she did great. There were no tears whatsoever. And, when I went to pick her up the next day, she couldn’t have cared less.
So, a Tire swing is cool right? Well, a Motorcycle Tire Swing is AWESOME! The kids LOVE it! As long as we let them swing themselves!!! Kevin had been begging for a tire swing. One night after the kids were in bed Cody went and bought a bolt and a rope and hung it in the tree. The next morning I said, Kevin, Dad has a surprise for you, he replied with Cool, a TIRE SWING? Cody and I were so disappointed!
Kevin has had his dear old Dad out in the yard playing baseball, football, or basketball any chance he can get. Kevin is doing better at watching the ball and is understanding each sport a little better. It’s really fun to watch him improve. Of course, Julia is right there with them. She wouldn’t miss out on the fun for anything!!!! (I am sitting in a chair in the shade for all of these events!)
Who doesn’t love a package from Grandma Wi and Grandpa Kevin. They seriously made my kid’s LIFE! They each got a new outfit, and a new fire station sweat shirt (which they both wore outside and Cody had to tell them they couldn’t go to the park in the 90 degree weather with 70% humidity unless they took them off, so they opted to sleep in them instead!) They both also got lunch boxes and water bottles, new socks, and hats, and a rescue helicopter. (That is super annoying, thank you!) We’ve had several picnics in our back yard, we had to pack the goods in the lunch boxes first, and Julia has worn her hat 24/7, (only backwards, which bugs Kevin!) and they only drink from their new water bottles. Kevin loves his new outfit, I’ve already washed it twice and he was bummed it wasn’t ready for him this morning.
And lastly, have you ever recorded your husband during Sunday School? I may have almost lost it on Sunday…you see, at first he didn’t know, then he got funny, and we may have already been in a giggly mood, so maybe it’s only funny to us!-- here’s a video.

I can't believe you're walking around dilated to a 6! You go girl! I'm impressed. Good luck with everything!
Your energy makes me tired and I am only 24 weeks pregnant! I hope I can someday accomplish as much in a week as you always seem to in a day :) Good luck with the next little while! Sounds like you are ready! And you will have to let me know how the natural birth goes, strongly considering it if I do a VBAC
Amen Brother Cody!
