We’ve battled the flu this week. It started with this guy
and went onto this girl
and I’m crossing my fingers it’s done and doesn’t attack this girl.
Just a few pictures I captured with my cell phone on the blessing day.
This picture was just after Cody had given the blessing and we were sitting in church. I know picture taking in sacrament meeting… NO NO, but it was soo cute.
The kids modeling some new clothes.
Every day after naps (and anytime this kid is watching TV) Kevin comes out of his room and the first thing he says is, “Mom, please put Lacey on the couch for me!” It’s so sweet to watch him snuggle his sister.
Kevin had a gnarly spill last week. He fell about 10 feet off of a rock climbing wall onto his face… in a pile of wood chips. Poor kid was a rock star and only whimpered a bit.
Lacey is changing EVERY stinking day.
Last year in school Kevin was writing his name so well. This year he’s writing the letters really well, just not in the right order. It only took one time practicing and explaining to him that if the letters aren’t in the right order then is doesn’t actually say his name and he’s got it mastered again. We’ve been practicing our letters more at home. I love the sense of pride he feels after accomplishing them.
Julia learned about O’s at Preschool on Tuesday last week. She practiced her Os, but once she’d written all the capitals and lower case o’s that would fit she colored them all in.
I’ve been feeling a little more hormonal as of late. I’m glad Cody has been home this week to keep things a float. The kids have loved it. Today Kevin got to get up early and go to the office with Daddy (a reward for being super good yesterday) he came home with all kinds of gifts from Cody’s co workers, and someone even gave him a cookie! He was on cloud 9.
I can’t believe how much Lacey has changed. I’m in awe every time I look at her. At first I thought she was a replica of Julia, but it seems she has a good mix of both kids and is definitely her own little self. I don’t know if it’s all the hair that throws me off, but I think I say about 20 times a day, “I can’t believe you are mine!” I love this little girl to pieces (good thing you are reading this and not with me, I’m bawling my eyes out as I think of the happiness she brings me!) she has been as good as gold. She’s very unpredictable as to when she will eat. Sometimes it’s 2 hours, the next it’s 5, and then she’ll eat every 40 minutes for a few hours. But being unpredictable is A OK if you are super laid back and easy going, and willing to wait a bit for Mommy to get things in order (Julia pottied with a snack) before you are fed. I can’t even describe the joy I feel to have Lacey in our home.
Sorry to follow that cuteness with this… but who does this?
Poor kids will be scarred for life. No, I do not know them. Yes, I laughed until I nearly wet my pants when I saw this picture.
Whose this guy? I’ve been looking back at picture of the other kids. It makes me so sad that I can’t even remember this. If I wasn’t such a neat freak, my walls would be plastered every square inch with different pictures, so that I’d always remember things like this. For as horrible as Kevin’s delivery was, he was perfect from day one.
Lacey doesn’t really like her bassinet. She’d rather sleep on my bed. (I fixed that last night, I put a big blanket under her sheet to make her bassinet a pillow top, she slept like a baby last night! HA HA! For real, she slept from 9:30 until 5:30 this morning! and then again until 9!)
It’s been hard giving Julia the love and attention she needs. It’s been nice to have Cody to take her on motorcycle rides this week and to take Kevin and Lacey so that Mommy and Julia could go out to lunch together. She’s also painted her own finger nails and toe nails. As I handed her the bottle of polish and sat her on the floor in the kitchen she looked up at me and said, “Mom get your phone, take a picture and tell Granny I doin’ it mine self!” She was very proud of her hard work. And she looked beautiful from her 2nd knuckle to the tip of her fingers and toes.
Julia loves holding and caring for Lacey.
Here’s a sweet video to prove it.
A few things we are looking forward to, Cody’s parents get here on Monday! WOOT WOOT! We are super excited. The kids are thrilled. We can’t wait to play with them!
Then next Saturday I’ll get to hold this sweet boy for the first time
and kiss this sweet girl.
and party with their Mama!
I.CAN’T.WAIT.
