The children were dying to help. We were able to appease Julia with some paints and a princess paper.
Kevin was not easy put off. He was able to paint above the sink.
Here we have a before of what our kitchen looked like. Tan walls, white trim, Oak cupboards, a gnarly flower handle in the middle of the doors, orange counter top.
And the after!!!! I am IN LOVE!!! Cody needs to make a piece to go across the top of the microwave. Last year he removed two doors to allow room for a hanging microwave.
If only it were completely finished. Our gallon of paint did not cover near the area we thought it would. So, instead of doing the second coat on the rest of the kitchen we are holding off until I can get another half of a gallon to mix in with the remaining paint.
The hardware store did not have enough hardware for us. We special ordered it 1.5 weeks ago. It’s supposed to be mailed to us, but has yet to come. So 11 doors have yet to be hung.
But, I can walk in to the kitchen and look at the wall with the oven and feel happy!
Julia (and Kevin) spent a good hour or more last night and this morning painting their finger nails. They are both becoming quite good at it!
