Lacey has learned to feed herself! LOVELY! I like handing her things to eat. I love when she’s all messy and eewy gooey and I just know she enjoyed her meal to the fullest!
Cody worked a late shift on Wednesday so we got our Egg dying on! Julia had to finish her dinner before she could participate.
The kids loved it. I made them each 15 eggs to color. Kevin is more of a dunker
Lacey is an observer
Julia was meticulous and made sure every egg was colored to Perrrrrrrrrrrrfection!
It was good, “clean” fun this year! I changed all the beds while they were busy dying eggs.
Our Happy Lacey girl.
Saturday morning we started round two of Easter Egg hunts. This weekend was warmer then last. Thank heavens. I made the kids pose for some pictures before the grand event.
I <3 putting my girls in matching clothes, almost as much as Julia loves matching Lacey. I actually found their outfits at two different stores, by LUCK!! I was so excited.
We started our egg hunt with breakfast, then we all gathered around and watched a short clip on the Easter Story.
And then the madness began. Cody has the pictures of Kevin. The family hosting had over 300 eggs packed with Candy for about 20 kids, Julia was in the “kid section” while all the bigger kids went up on the hill looking for the golden egg that was filled with money!
As you can imagine, Lacey was pooped after the egg Hunt, and Julia was coughing like crazy. When the mail man came she had 4 big envelopes from Granny and Pa with a gift card for each of the kids to McDonalds. They were on cloud 9! Happy Meals are a special treat at our house they were thrilled to be able to spend their gift card on their meal of choice. Thanks Granny and Pa!
Lacey slept while we all ate and woke up just in time to finish off the chicken nuggets and french fries.
We wrapped up the night watching HOP, an Easter Movie from Grandma and Grandpa Gray. The kids loved it and were excited for the next day.
The kids fell in to bed. Sadly, Julia did it with a fever.
And while we were sleeping, good ol EB took care of business!
Julia was up just before 6 with another fever and a coughing fit. Kevin climbed in bed a few minutes later. Before I climbed out I was in next to Cody. We decided this morning we need a King sized bed! This is how we spend our last 30 minutes in bed every morning. The kids are both watching movies and Cody and I try to catch a few more winks.
in HOP the Easter Bunny poops Jelly Beans, the kids were a bit disappointed when he didn’t leave any here, but that disappointment disappeared when they found that all the eggs hidden were filled with pennies.
Lacey was equally excited to find a few treats in her basket.
and she looked oh so cute sporting all of her new hair clips.
This is where you would NORMALLY see a very cute family picture of us all in our Easter Get up. but Julia was still under the weather so Cody stayed home with the girls while I went to church with Kevin. I was supposed to teach his class today. Low and behold, he was the only one there. We went to sharing time and then to his class and had our lesson. There was about 20 minutes left when we were finished, we were going to watch a movie and color an Easter page, Instead we snuck out and came home. We had a delicious dinner of bacon wrapped sirloins and home made ice cream to wash it down and then we watched the movie together as a family. When Kevin is skipping class in the near future on his own free will and choice, I’ll know it’s because he learned from the best! (Mom and Dad, I swear I NEVER skipped Sunday School or Young Womens, NOT ONCE!!!)
I’m grateful for this Easter Sunday. It was neat having the kids old enough to ask questions and to really understand the reason for the season. As I’ve been teaching my children this week specifically of the Atonement and Resurrection, Kevin has been a bit nervous about us dying or him dying, and when it will happen. I thought deeply about my fear of leaving this life. I guess it’s not so much a fear of dying but a fear of being away from my husband, children, and family. Or Vise Versa, the thought of living with out them. Today during sacrament meeting it was confirmed to me that although it will be sad to be gone or to have them gone, It is a very happy thing and a good thing, and joyful thing to know that it is only temporary, And I’m happy to know that I too will live again with those I love because of the sacrifice of my Savior Jesus Christ.
