Julia's first day of school

Was ALMOST a month ago!  OOPS!  It's time to get caught up. Julia LOVES, LOVES, LOVES school and it kills her that she only gets to go twice a week. She loves that she gets to ride the Mommy Bus and when people ask her if she goes to school, it's one of the first things she tells them!

When Julia finished preschool last year, (Mind you she was still two) she wasn't writing her name at all. We worked on letters all summer long and a few weeks before school started everything clicked and now she is a writing machine. Hand this girl a pencil and she can whip her name out in 2 seconds flat. Her next favorite thing to write is Pa, and she was very excited to send my Dad a card that said Pa in it.

I thought Julia was going to be lost with Kevin gone to school and her at home, but she actually plays very well by herself, and she loves playing with her doll house and polly pockets, (She never touches them when he is home.)

One new thing we have learned about Julia--
It seems we have a house project going all the time, so after Kevin leaves for school I usually say, "I am going to go... clean the basement, paint the trim, paint the doors, paint the ceilings, (which ever is up next) will you come help me?" She used to just say things like, "I'm going to color," or "I'll come out in a minute," now the full truth has emerged, "I really don't like working!" It cracks me up every time she says it!  Cody's parents were here this last week and I think Grandpa Kevin heard it about 200 times.

Julia is still sleeping in her own room all night long (YAHOOO!!!!) Although some nights it takes her hours to fall asleep, she will stay in her bed and talk to herself quietly. Such a huge change from 6 months ago. We couldn't be happier!!!!

Julia girl! We love you and we are so luck you are ours!
We are blessed and we know it!
