Today was Kevin's very first field trip ever! Boy was it exciting. He thought for sure that the moment would never arrive for us to go. After asking no less then 40 times for shoes and jackets and hauling the girls to two different friends, we were finally on the road to the school. Upon arriving all the kids went out to play, all of the parents were standing awkwardly in the class room, almost afraid to speak to each other, so after a few failed attempts and a very awkward conversation I headed outside to play. A little girl ran right up to me, (I don't know her name but by the time the whole adventure was over I was about to throw her off the side of the hay ride!!! Whooweee, her parents have their hands full!) she said, "who are you? Are you our new teacher?" I said, "no, I'm Kevin's Mom!" Girl- "why are you here?" Me " to go to the pumpkin farm!" Girl- "why?" Me-"for fun!" Girl-"fun? Moms don't like to have fun, not with kids!" Me-"I do!" And I went on to tell her how much fun we were going to have. Aside from the last few minutes of the hay ride, which in their defense was reeeeeeealllly boring, we had tons of fun. But--- this little girl got me to thinking, do I have fun with my kids or am I just going through the motions?! And then I said a little prayer in my heart that I would remember to have more fun, And be less worried and stressed about our current situations! So... Here is to more fun! Cause I promise you, this Mom likes to have FUN!!!!
We are blessed and we know it!!!
