New Hampshire

A quick run down on our New Hampshire house hunting trip. We flew in on Saturday afternoon, three kids, two car seats, two bags, and one obviously pregnant mom sure does draw a LOT of attention. Like A.L.O.T! Needless to say, after waking up at 4:15 am and having all the kids dressed and in the car by 5 am we were happy to see our hotel room. The kids were super good and I was stopped by three different people who all said how well behaved the kids were. That is a good thing to hear when I'm tired and ready to be done for the day. The big kids and Cody enjoyed a nice long swim in the pool while Lacey napped and I searched for houses.

Sunday morning we took the one hour drive into Wolfeboro to attend the branch. We decided to go there, Cody had attended the week before and 90% of the houses we had looked at and were planning to look at we're in that branch. We all loved the branch. There were about 50 people there. Kevin and Julia are in the same primary class, which they loved! Wolfeboro is the oldest summer vacation town in America. Meaning that in the summer our branch will 250 or more people in it. Including but not limited to the Romney's and the Mariot's. it was very comforting to be 1400 miles away from home and to attend church and be taught the exact same doctrine, I'm am reminded over and over again what a small world we live in. After sacrament meeting I was in the hall talking to a couple and the lady, Kari, asked me where I was from she laughed and said, " do you know the Beagley's?" (She is my beehive advisor) Sis. Beagley had just emailed Kari a few days ago to tell her that her friend was moving to NH and to watch out for her. We left church with an invitation to dinner, a baby doctor name and phone number, a good heads up on what towns we would want to live in and the on we would want to avoid, as well as a whole bunch of new friends! It was a great day. Dinner was fabulous and we had a good time getting to know two of the families in the area. Not to mention, home cooked food and dessert is so much better than eating out.

Monday we were in the car by 8:30 am and we did not get back to our hotel until 4:00 pm. The kids were awesome, but it was an awful day of house hunting. We were striking out left nd right. There wasn't even a house that we kind of liked, they all had something AWFUL about them. There was one last house on our list that we couldn't get in to see. after talking, The realtor told us to look through houses again and he would too and to send him a game plan. That night when we went to bed, we had nothing else on our list and our chins were dragging on the ground. We had decided to look at this one last house and if it wasn't right... We would look again when we move here. In 24 days! Yikes!

Tuesday morning after a big breakfast and a big swim we headed off to the town of Moultenborough. Established in 1777. Before even entering the house we learned that the neighborhood is Skyland Park. Which would only mean we are a 10 minute walk to the airport/landing strip. It would also mean that the roads were made especially wide so that one could taxi a plane right to their house. I could see airplanes and hearts shooting out of the top of Cody's head. I knew his ears were shut off and he had heard any important information he needed. There is also a place about a mile down the road where one can tie down their plane, build or rent a hanger. The house itself was built in 1998. It has a bit of an odd floor plan, which we have learned is standard of the homes here. But with the finished basement, (that is complete with a kitchen) there are 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 2 laundry rooms, and 2 kitchens. It is on 2.5 acres with a brook that abuts the property and a pond within walking distance. A house that will require a few projects (just like we like em!) now has an offer put in on it. We should know in the next day or two if it will be accepted. We are keeping our fingers crossed!

To celebrate, Cody took the big kids for a swim and I rocked the baby to sleep and we ordered pizza. The perfect end to our trip. (Yay! I was house hunting all night long in my dreams. It was stressful, but I found some stinking nice houses! Hopefully I can sleep peacefully tonight.)

Tomorrow we board the plane Milwaukee bound. Our trip was a success overall. Not just finding a house, but Kevin and Julia have both asked if we could just stay in our new house instead of going back, they met some great friends their age at church, they visited the local ski hill, where a season pass is 25.00! and their dad inquired on ski lessons, they also made a trip out on they frozen lake to visit the ice fishers! I think they are finally thinking this move won't be as bad as they had imagined.

With out further ado, here is a picture of the front of "the house!"
