What a nice relaxing break we had.
Cody was able to go flying a few times. This is a picture from New Years Day. Isn’t it beautiful?
Near the end of the week, J.D. and Ashlynn came to be with us. J.D. did a fireside for our stake (It was awesome!) and then they stayed to celebrate New Years with us. We had so much fun!!!
On Sunday morning we had an early showing. Too early to go to church, so we went sledding in the brisk 10 degrees. I think fun was had by all. J.D. and Cody both went home sore after attempting to go down the hill on their feet. I don’t have a video of J.D. but I do of Cody.
On New Years Eve, the girls hit the salon for Pedicures and the Boys (and Lacey) went out to lunch.
These two girls were in heaven! They were treated with Royal Treatment and enjoyed every second of their time in the Salon.
We enjoyed the finest of crab legs and steaks *Go Cody, for the juiciest, most flavorful steak ever!* on New Years Eve. After dinner we played Go Fish and Old Maid with the kids and then watched a movie with them. We tucked them all into bed just before 9 and then it was our turn to play!
We started with the Dance game on the Kinect. I kid you not, I had to go to the bathroom no less than 5 times. Pregnant Mama’s jumping like crazy and laughing hysterically cause for a weak bladder! It was so much fun and a few of us were even sore the next day. After dancing our hearts out and our steaks off, we played a few games of Settlers of Catan. At 11:40 we were getting ready to start our 2nd game, Ashlynn suggested waiting until midnight so we could celebrate the new year coming in. Instead we all leaned over and kissed our spouses and then carried on with our game!
Lacey is already going strong with her New Year resolution. She has been walking off and on all day.
Last night as our last hoorah, we played Doodle Dice, Julia and I lost so we had to make rootbeer floats for everyone, and then we wrapped up the night with Go Fish! Which, Julia dominated! Such a fun night. I love that our kids are getting big enough to play games. I do LOVE me some good game playing!
And back to reality.
Today Cody went to work, Kevin to school, and Julia to a friends house. Lacey and I spent our morning doing laundry, changing sheets, cleaning out closets. If you can imagine how much longer it takes to do such tasks with this little lady holding onto your pant leg and walking with you. Even so, we came out on top and ended the evening with a spotless house!! (Thanks to a bajillion hand-me-downs, Julia may only be able to wear everything once before she grows out of all this cuteness!)
And, one last picture. Julia made me a present for Christmas that went un opened. She found it today, It said, Mom, Dad, Julia, and her newest word, KEVIN! I’m very proud of how well she is writing. It sure is fun to watch my kids grow and learn new things.
We are Blessed and We KNOW it!
