Cutie Patootie

The party has just continued. we have been so busy.
But, we did take a break for Kevin to read Pa's Guns and Ammo magazines.

And quite a few jumps on the tramp.

And a very relaxing evening at the park with cotton candy while the kids played on the toys.

Kevin gave Pa some good exercise playing frisbee, but by the end he was throwing to his target quite well.

We went to Cody's cousins baptism and baby blessing. This is all the girls with the middle name Joy, after Grandma Joy, in the Gray family.

Even though we haven't seen Cody, he has been quite busy. He took a trip to Milwaukee to finish his flying hours and then rode his bike to Sturgis. In between those activities he stopped to visit our sweet neighbors and was rear ended on his bike while stopped at a stop sign. Thankfully there was no injury and we've thanked our Heavenly Father numerous times for his safety.

Grandma and Grandpa took us to the Little Buckeroos Rodeo in firth. It was very fun. The grand event ended in a Chicken Chase.

Where Kevin took home the grand prize of A big, beautiful, very kind chicken he so lovingly named, Cutie Patootie. She was the sweetest Hen and was so good to snuggle with Kevin. On the way home as Kevin stroked his beautiful chicken he loudly declared, "I hate chicken nuggets!" Julia was a great support system during the chicken chase. Once Kevin caught the chicken, she kept her arms stretched out keeping everyone away from Kevin and Cutie.

**sadly, Cutie's life came to an abrupt end a few days ago. A fox got into the coup and had chicken nuggets for dinner.
After hearing the news, we were driving home from Denver and I asked Kevin to turn off his movie for a few minutes. I told him about Cuties fate and explained to him about the circle of life. Trying to be very sensitive I said, "how do you feel about that?" His response, "pretty good!!" He grabbed his head phones, put them back in and that was the end of that!
