The perfect day

The perfect day! Today Cody had work meetings in Tilton, about an hour away. He was required to stay in a hotel there, so once the kids got home from school we packed up and headed to dinner and then I took the kids swimming. We saw Cody for thirty seconds. He ran by, kissed us all, and then continued on to his next task. It was a joyful trip. Kevin taught us the things he had learned in his Spanish class today (holy, it's impressive what he is learning!) we asked each other questions, told stories, and really enjoyed our time in the car. We went through the drive thru and the kids each helped carry the food and our swimming gear into the hotel. We ate, swam, watched a tv show, bathed, had a snack, and then drove home. We listened to books on CD on the way home. When we got home, the kids brushed and climbed in bed. Once they were all tucked in, I got on the treadmill and while I was working my Hindy off, I realized what a joyful trip we had had. I never once raised my voice. We talked, laughed, listened, and enjoyed being together, it was good for my heart and soul. I sure do love these kids of mine. I'm blessed and I know it.

That does sound nice...magical even, perhaps mythical for us. I'm not sure that could ever happen! I was talking about you to someone the other day. Made me miss you :(
