Tenth month
It's hard to believe we are well on our way to Elena's eleventh month. This little girl is a beautiful little thing. She has eye lashes for days. Her hair is coming in as a dark blonde, almost identical to Cody's hair. She has a funny little personality and has decided she has a mind of her own. She hates being fed and even if she's starving, if she is spoon fed, she will spit it right back out. If I put food on her tray she will devour it. If I pick up the exact same thing off of the tray and feed it to her, it will come right back out. She LOVES necklaces and is usually wearing a strand of beads around her neck and knows how to put them on herself. She's not a huge fan of wearing bows on her head, they generally only last a few short minutes. She's still weighing right around 19 lbs. she now has three top teeth and one bottom tooth and she knows how to use them. It's so funny to hear her crunching on a piece of cereal. She's begun to stand without holding onto anything. In the beginning days it resulted in her loosing her balance and then flailing before falling hard, but now, as she looses her balance, she's able to regain it and grab back onto the toy, couch, leg for continued support. Leave her alone for all of three seconds and she is playing in the toilet water, emptying the nearest shelf, or trying to get to something out of reach or trying to pull a cord from the wall, she's also known for emptying the kitchen drawers or the lid container. Usually when I clean I have to find something for her to destroy in order to get something else cleaned. She is quite fond of books and loves looking at them (by herself. No help, thanks brother and sisters for trying.) she's developed some lovely stranger danger, bible study has become interesting, as she's old enough to go to the nursery, it kills me to leave her, I hate to hear her crying. She's in the same class as Lacey and I hear Lacey caters to her every need. To celebrate Elena's tenth month and a long seven days with no Dad, we went with the neighbors to the ice castles. Oh. My. Word. Laners was so excited to be outside, she loved every second of it and did not miss a beat. It was fun to watch her soak in her surroundings and interact with all the people around us. Elena is well known in our home as Laners Ba Daners, Laney, or Lanes. She's a good sport, go with the flow kind of girl. She spends her days chasing her big siblings to all of their activities and we rarely hear a complaint from her, we love you Laners and are so happy you are ours. I am blessed to be your mother and I know it!
