Muck Fest

My friend, Karen, invited me to join her and her sisters and brother-in-law in running the MuckFest this year.  They run every year in honor of their father who lives with MS. I was totally apprehensive. I don't really like to be dirty and I really don't enjoy freezing cold water and this was combining both events into one. It was dirty and the water was f-f-f-f-f-reezing. Like, so cold that there were two times that I honestly told myself, "You can't die right here. You have to swim or you will die!" No joking.
We knew right away that the weather was going to be sunny, but not warm by any stretch of the imagination. The night before the run my hero, Cody, went to Under Armor and purchased leggings and a long sleeve shirt that wicks wet away and holds warmth it. It was seriously amazing and made the biggest difference.
It will definitely go down in the books as a success. I hope I was nice enough that they will let me join their group again next year. ;)
