My day started very nicely this morning. I got 7 1/2 hours of uninterrupted sleep last night! AHH!!
I woke to a very handsome hubby and 2 happy kids.
We had biscuits and gravy together.
Kevin played while Julia and I got ready.
Julia is now wanting her hair done daily, or 10 times daily.
And lately, while I'm doing my make up she will tell me,
"I some!"
Since I've been dieing to see what her lovely lashes would look like with mascara, today I gave in.
Oh boy. They ARE lovely lashes. This is with just a TOUCH of mascara.
And of course she had her hair flipped out and a pretty in it.
She loves getting ready every morning.
Then, we started our day. Once we all had our shoes and coats on and we were preparing to walk out the door Kevin informed me that he didn't have any underwear on.
I hurry and un-shoed him and put some on, then we left.
We had a list of errands for this AM.
Emissions testing for Dad's truck,
Menards for more basement paint,
Aldi for milk and the basics.
As I was reading through the Emissions paper, it informed me that a drivers license was needed.
SHOOT!
Cody took my car and I always leave my goods in the center console.
Requiring a trip to Harley before we could REALLY get going on our errands.
To make a LONG commute short,
let me just say,
It took 1 hour and 15 minutes to drive 14 stinkin' miles.
UGH.
Blasted SNOW!
My kids were really gems, but the last 15 minutes of inching along, Julia cried because she was hungry, I didn't take anything with me because I was figuring all three stops would be 2 hours at the MOST
and in my little brain I figured a reward treat from the store for good kids would be perfect.
My plan flopped and LUCKILY for us, Daddy had a 30 minute break between meetings and other duties, so he invited us in and took us to the lunch room for a late breakfast.
Spoiling the kids with all their favorites and a bag of taffy for the drive back.
We're lucky Daddy loves us so much!
We made all of our stops, the snow slowed us down quite a bit.
SO did the fact that I left our 'MENARDS' money in the truck (a gift card),
so after finding all our goods we had to trek through the snow, back out to the truck, then back in.
Really not a big deal unless you are hauling a 20 month old that would rather be walking and a 3 year old that wants every question answered.
Then, I got home and our 2 inches of snow that we were supposed to get is really more like 4 and it is still coming. So I started the snow blower, I went about 10 feet and it pooped out.
After working on it for about 20 minutes, I finally got it started and successfully removed the snow from the driveway.
I had a HUGE ol list of things I wanted to get done this morning so I could spend the afternoon painting the basement, but that has not gone as planned AT ALL!
Blogging wasn't on my list, but I figured since things were already off, why not add a few extras.
I'm glad I did, because I used our new (read as crappy) camera today and found these pictures of Cody from a couple of months ago.
The fact that my morning was completely screwed up no longer matters.
These pictures made my day.
And since I'm not doing anything according to plan, I'm going to go crawl into bed with my kids and start over again in about an hour!
Wish us luck on round 2 of our day!!!

I hope round 2 went more smoothly.
