Easter Sunday was a fabulous day at our house.
The kids were very surprised by the goods good Ol’ E.B. left for them!
After our egg hunt, over dosing on candy, and playing with our toys we headed to the kitchen for breakfast.
While I was making it I remembered the Easter package my Mom sent was still in the front closet. (I had to hide it from myself so I wouldn’t peek!)
Cody retrieved it and opened it!
Notice Julia’s madness, she didn’t think it was fair that Daddy got to play it first.
Kevin wasn’t too concerned. He loves cream of wheat and knew he’d get a chance later.
And when he got his chance, he totally rocked the house! It was fabulous!
I wanted pictures of the kids since it was Easter. When I asked Kevin he plopped right down.
When I asked Julia, she screamed NO!!!! and I don’t want too!!! Over and over again. I took 2 pictures and called it good.
Cody being the awesome Dad that he is didn’t want Julia’s easter to go down as the worst ever. He handed her an egg and got this cute picture. NOT even 2 SECONDS after I tried these too.
During the week we had several short lessons on the resurrection. On Sunday afternoon while Kevin and Julia were eating lunch I asked Kevin, “Why do we celebrate Easter?”
Kevin’s response, “Cause it makes Jesus happy when we eat all of our candy…(LONG PAUSE) and when we remember Him!”
The day turned into a beautiful day. Cody and I propped open the front door and laid on the couch reading the paper while the kids rode their new bikes around the neighborhood.
Since Sunday we’ve had day after day after day of rain. Not just sprinkles but times of down pouring rain. (Can I just tell you I Heart my Gutters!)
On Tuesday it was WARM out so I put the kids in their rain boots and sent them out to the puddle in the back yard.
It was well over an hour of fun!
About 3/4 of the way through Julia ditched her boots and they used them as buckets instead.
They ended up completely soaked, completely happy, and completely out of my hair!
Which was fabulous since they’ve been naughty little nap skippers lately.
Today, the 3rd time this week. They both fell asleep in the car for about 10 minutes and then were done. Today isn’t such a big deal because they are happy and playing nice. Tuesday and Wednesday were ComPLETELY different stories.
When it came time for baths, we could NOT get Kevin’s boots off of him. Holy moly, they were filled with water and suction cupped on. It was QUITE entertaining.
It’s raining again today…as you could probably have guessed the kids are BEGGING to go out in the puddle in the back yard. The only problem with today’s rain, it’s barely 40 degrees out.
Julia started feeling junky yesterday and Kevin woke up with a pretty hoarse cough today so I’m making them stay out of the water. I’ve explained myself 70 times now. Regardless, I will let them do it again on another warm rainy day. But tomorrow, were looking forward to sunny skies and a day at the zoo! Yipee.
And a few things about each Kid-
Kevin has started using more and more Spanish words. He uses a few while praying and has been teaching Julia her colors in Spanish. (It’s a good thing cause I haven’t been teaching them in English.)
This 3 year old talks NON STOP! OH my word. He has quite the memory and has been pulling them from his little brain the last week. Telling me things that happened last summer. (Which is totally fun to relive!)
Julia AKA Sassy Pants
Yesterday we were cleaning up and I asked Julia to pick up some puzzles, she looked at me with a long stare and I gave her the “JULIA!” In my stern voice. She looks over at me and says the breathiest, “Oh Gosh!” and started cleaning up.
Lacey-
Cody’s already been calling her Spacey Lacey (I’m sure it wont be the first nor the last time she hears it) has been kicking like crazy. Cody can feel her all the time now. Which I Love. I haven’t told the kids that such things happen. I want the kick to be stronger so that they wont have to wait and feel for a long time. I’ve been feeling fabulous. The migraines have been at a minimum and almost non existent since I went and got a neck and shoulder massage. I'm happy to report this has been the easiest thus far.

Sounds like fun! I have a little sassy pants on my hands too!! It looks like we're headed back west in August, if everything goes as panned! It's so crazy! I'm glad the pregnancy is going well. If a massage is all it takes that is GREAT and a nice break for you too!!
