I just don’t want to forget! ANY OF IT!

Today was a crazy busy day. It was our Young Men and Young Women’s Spaghetti Dinner Fund Raiser, and I was in charge of the food.

We planned on 75 and had way more and actually ran out of food about 20 minutes into serving. After a mad dash to the store, I think we had 4 pieces of garlic bread left, a few stray noodles, and 2 containers of Ragu. (It made my Day when people went back for seconds and didn’t have any because they wanted my sauce!)

I’ve said 1,000 prayers already that my children were gems through it all. I appreciate the kindness of those who helped me with them.

 

Despite the busy day, I had to sit down and write the funny things I’ve heard Julia say…

IN THE LAST 25 minutes as I was trying to get her to bed.

M- Julia, it’s time to get your jammies on.

J-I know, but I do it myself! (and she put her jammies on, MOSTLY by herself.)

 

M-Julia, let’s go to bed.

J-Just a minute Mom, I need to clean. (she picked up all the legos and put them away!)

 

M-Julia, you were such a good girl today, that makes Mommy so happy!

J-I know! I like to sing!

 

J-Mom, Kevin a big boy.

M-Yes, and you are a Big Girl!

J-No, I not, I a Princess.

 

J-Mom, I just need some more kisses!

 

J-Mom, I be so soft, I just touch your eye.

M-You want to touch my eye?

J-Yes, but I be so soft. (She proceeded to touch my eye lashes over and over again.)

 

M-Julia, you really need to go to sleep.

J-Ok! (then we bonked heads) Sorry Mom, I just need to sleep on your head.

M-No, that hurts, I don’t like it.

J- But, I need to, I’m sleepy.

 

J-1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,19,17,five teen.

 

J-Mom, I just need to go to bed, I so sleepy!

M-Ok, then go to sleep.

J-Ok, good night Mom, sleep good! (and it was over, she was asleep in seconds!)

 

Today, one of our friends gave Julia her birthday present.  The present was awesome. All five characters of the Backyardigans. Julia’s ALL TIME FAVORITE show EVER!!!  She calls it the Backidans.

She can’t carry them all at the same time… It’s been causing her stress, I found a basket for her to use and all day she has carried all 5 of the Backidans everywhere we go. This morning she only new a few of their names, she now knows all 5, although Pablo, he never gets called his name, he gets called Backidan!

 

Last week, at Kevin’s last day of preschool, his teacher said she’d take Julia next year. Julia was there for the conversation and ever since has been asking to go to preschool. I  keep telling her she doesn’t get to go until she goes poopoo and potty in the toilet. Here’s what happened 2 days ago.

J-Mom, I wear Minnie Mouse Unders?

M-Yes, but you have to go potty in the toilet if you want to wear them.

J-Ok, Lets GO!!!!

I put her on the potty and she went right away. I asked her every 10 or so minutes, about 45 minutes later she was wet.

M-Julia, you’re all wet, remember you have to go potty in the toilet.

J-It’s ok Mom, I go to preschool now!!!

CLEARLY, she thought, if I do this and get it over with, I get to go.

We are amazed EVERY STINKIN’ DAY by the funny things this girl has done.

She’s been a tough one. She has a mind of her own and will power like No one I’ve ever met. BUT, we could NOT LOVE HER MORE!!!!
