An abundance of Blessings!

We're feeling a little overwhelmed with the amount of blessings we’ve received the last week.

At the beginning of the week we decided to buckle down and get the rest of our un-necessary debt paid off, after setting some goals and making some plans, here’s what happened…

- Cody purchased an old beat up bike a few weeks ago and fixed it up. Less then 10 hours after posting it on Craigslist it sold.

-I called the Newspaper to cancel because they wanted me to pay 52.00 for 26 newspapers. (That we enjoy getting and I do use coupons out of, but 52.00 come on!)  When I told the lady my reason for canceling, she offered me 26 papers for $25.74!

-We learned that we paid for one of Cody’s school classes that Harely was supposed to pay for, they are reimbursing us.

-The biggest of them all (Money wise)- 5 years ago this June Cody wrecked on his motorcycle and broke his wrist, as if that wasn’t bad enough, he didn’t have any medical insurance. Over the last 5 years we’ve slowly paid off or down all of the bills.  Except for one. We’ve made our monthly payment each month, but our balance was still $3,575.00. I never received our bill for June so I just sent my check in the mail. On Friday I opened what appeared to be a bill.  It was indeed a statement, but highlighted in bright yellow marker was, BALANCE:  0.00 I was shocked to say the least. After reading further, I learned that the company had done an administrative write off and we no longer owe them anything!

I was shaking and called Cody crying. What a ginormous blessing. I know we are being blessed for choosing to follow the counsel of our church leaders to get out of debt.

We’ve also been blessed abundantly in terms of health. I thank Heavenly Father Daily for the precious children He placed in our family.

I’ve been blessed with a very loving, caring, husband who does a marvelous job at protecting and providing for us.

I also feel overwhelmed by what the phrase, “God Bless America'” really means. After having visited a few other places outside of the United States and after having read a few books (some of them fiction) I realize how much God has blessed America. I’m grateful for all of the freedoms I’ve been given.

Now, onto the pictures, That’s why you are all here!!!

Julia wanted to be in the exercauser, (I have it out for our little Aiden we watch) once Kevin started taking pictures, she was mad she couldn’t get out. The following photos are compliments of both Kevin and Julia!

(Yes that is my face shoved in a book. My family has a book club, I was finishing my last few pages!  It was definitely a page turner!)

After we got home from church, changed our clothes and had lunch, out of the Blue Kevin asked Cody to take off his training wheels.

I was CERTAIN we’d be putting them back on in a few minutes, I was definitely proved wrong!

Kevin started by wanting to do it ALL himself!

And ended by accepting a LITTLE help from Dad.

After a good hour of practicing we went in for a break. We were back out tonight for a good hour and Kevin was stopping and starting all by himself. I’m so proud of him. I may or may not have cried when a couple of our neighbors came out to tell him how proud they were of him.

Last week we had a “stay at home day!” It was lovely. It’s been a LONG time since we’ve stayed home the entire day with no plans whatsoever.  The kids were tons of fun!

We made sticky cereal together, Kevin’s all time favorite.

Julia loves it too. We couldn’t wait for it to set up so we ate it by the spoonful instead. MMM.MMM Good!

We also did chores, played in the kiddie pool together, read stories, played games, and made a few projects. As fun as it is to go out with our friends or spend time at the park or doing other activities, it was LOVELY to stay home and spend some QUALITY time together. I sure do love these kids.

Julia is addicted to Llama Llama Red Pajama and Llama Llama Misses Mama. She nearly has both books memorized. Here she fell asleep reading. Super cute!

A few other important things!!

Kevin is huge into rhyming words right now, as well as recognizing letters in words. The entire time he was out riding his bike today he was telling us words that rhyme with bike.

On Friday I was telling him that he needed to clean up the Buckets, He yelled, BUCKET, and followed with a very naughty word!! I was shocked. We’ve also had a few other not so pretty words come up while rhyming.  We’ve decided to not make mention of any of them, seems as the majority of the ones he’s used he’s never heard from anyone else. Regardless, it is quite funny!!!

Julia is talking up a storm, If you ask her what her name is she says, “Ju!”

Today she was painting and yelled to Cody, “Daddy, come paint with me!”

D-He was speaking Spanish, but said something to the effect of, “Ok, just a minute!”

J-“No, stand up and come paint!”

She screams WAY too much, usually things like, “Dooooooon’t Kevin!” and “it’s MINE!” Eww, it bugs! Smile

As far as Lacey goes, we are getting anxious to meet her. She’s a little wiggle worm. She’s still measuring big. In anticipation of her arrival, I’ve been in deep clean mode. The front 1/2 of the house has been deep cleaned as well as Kevin’s bedroom. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms to go. It feels so nice to clean all the nooks and crannies, and to take a few loads to goodwill.

Before I leave, I must wish a Happy Happy Birthday to my little sister,

JORDIN GRACE!!!!

That happened to us too! With Brian going to the emergency room and the cost of a baby, I didn't know how we would be able to pay for everything, but we got totally blessed by paying off our other debts and we had enough money to pay off our health stuff! It is pretty cool to see the blessings!
