We did oodles of playing while in Idaho. Bowling, Parks, Play dates, Outer Limits, Trips to the fire station, lunch dates, Blast off, Hot tub parties, fire works, pinochle, shopping…. you name it, we did it.
Tessa’s family had to clean the church the night before we left. I called her to beg her to come play one more time. She texted me a picture of her in a bathroom with a mop as a prop to try to prove to me that she was indeed cleaning and not just ditching me. I’m still not sure.
While we were in the airport on the way to Idaho we had a 3 hour and 50 minute lay over. It was our lucky day though. Santa was there and pictures were free.99! YAY!!! Notice Lacey in the bottom right corner zonked. Kevin was super excited. Julia wanted nothing to do with the creepy guy that is supposed to be sneaking into her house in the middle of the night.
Lacey, my packing buddy.
Cody’s birthday was while we were in Idaho. The only problem… it was while he wasn’t. I made this for him and one of my neighbors delivered it on the day of his birthday. I was happy with how it turned out and it will hang in our kitchen once that is done.
Kevin and Julia were able to go bowling on several occasions. They LOVE bowling and they are both getting quite good. I mean, check out his form!?!
Julia DEVOURED the salsa at Mama Inez. She is our brave eater.
The kids and I made a trip to Utah land to visit my long lost BFF Kimmi G. It was so fun seeing her. Kevin and AJ picked up where they left off. Ever since we left, Kevin asks about AJ all the time. I finally pulled out some old videos and pictures I have of the two of them. Kevin has asked a handful of times when we will be going to AJ’s house.
Sweet little Riley.
Kim and I.
Aunt Jordin whipped out her hair dressing skills. Lucky for her, she had two eager customers.
We were able to go and listen to Blake’s choir concert and watch Jordin play basketball. We tried to make it to a wrestling match or two but there was a forfeit and a miss communication.
Our little genius reading the dictionary.
Where is the Mama to sleep? This was by far my most fun trip home. Kevin and Julia were old enough to remember every body and old enough to adapt and adjust to all the different places and schedules and Lacey was young enough to do the same. The only bummer about the whole thing. We started with a cold, followed by the flu, and wrapped up our trip with a cold. Despite those minor mishaps, we had oodles of fun… and even when we had the yuckies, we were still SUPER FUN!
Julia fighting a cold.
We went over to my Grandpa Dye’s house to visit and the kids were able to help decorate the Christmas tree.
I love my Grandpa. I love talking to him. I love when he tells me stories. And I love love love when he hugs me and whispers in my ear, “it’s so good to see you!” MMM… I love him.
Sam and Lacey… these two… they very well could be partners in crime here soon. It seems as though their personalities will mesh just nicely.

CHRISTMAS MORNING!! YIPAH! I wont lie. I did look at my clock at least 47 times between 11 pm and 5 AM. I was sooo anxious to get up and have Christmas.
Sadly, Julia had the flu the evening of the 24th (Daddy arrived just in time to give her a blessing) so Christmas morning she was a little docile.
All the boys got nerf guns. The morning was a mild war, but after church all heck broke lose and the boys, including Kevin had an all out war that lasted a good hour or more. It was super fun and Kevin loved that Uncle Dillon was on his team and helped him to build a shield with a blanket. It was so fun for me to sit and watch Kevin play with the big boys. He had so much fun and held his own when it came to cocking his gun, he also kept his team well stocked with ammo, by running over to steal some from Daddy if he was running low.
Poor Lucy caught the flu bug about 2 in the morning on Christmas morning. So Tess and Dillon didn’t get much sleep.
to be continued….
