I must start this round of pictures with a story! Last year we had some squirrels get in our attic. We knew where they were getting in, behind the chimney, so last year we ripped all the siding off and re did the whole thing. Well, this year there are 3 squirrels in our attic. If the garage door is ever left open, they run in a scale the back wall of the garage and get in our soffit and then into the attic. These bad boys are not afraid of anyone or anything. They will run and climb up your back if you’re not paying attention. Did I say 3 squirrels? Well, make that one now! On Saturday Cody came home with a new pellet gun for me for Mothers Day. A few minutes after being home he had shot a squirrel out of the rafters in the garage. On Monday night I put a big pile of bird seed in the woods. On Tuesday morning the kids told me the squirrel was out. I inched open the sliding door a popped a pellet right in his mid section. He took off in a flip floppy sort of way, but he couldn’t have gotten far. I nailed him good. I was pretty proud of myself. I immediately called Cody and 2 seconds into our convo I said, “I gotta go, I gotta call my Dad!” As you can imagine, my Dad was as excited as I was!
Kevin just wrapped up his last swimming class tonight for this session. He passed with flying colors. He’s ready to advance to the next class and the teacher said, “He’s more than ready to start swimming on his own!” We’re pretty proud of our little man. In this picture they are doing their life jacket survival floats. Kevin is the closest one in the picture.
This is Lacey’s favorite place to be, consequently, the toy cupboard is emptied about 4 times a day.
My little sass-a-frass Getting ready to head to school.
Kevin is a fabulous big brother. He is very willing to help/protect Julia.
When I said Pictures, Kevin said, “We need one for Granny!” They know Granny appreciates a good funny face!
On most Tuesday nights we meet Cody for dinner before he goes to school. Even though we drive 40 minutes round trip and we only see him for 20 minutes tops, it’s so worth it. The kids love it, I love it, and it makes our night go much smoother. This night, Lacey enjoyed her first ice cream cone.
This past Tuesday we opted for a picnic on the grass. I think we will go that route from now on. The extra 10 minutes with Dad is AWESOME!!!
Kevin, Olivia, and Julia all in the Zebra costume.
Last week we had “one-of-those-days!” Where Julia was taking her nap at 8:51 am! I snapped this pictures just as she dosed off.
With both girls sleeping Kevin and I shot his airsoft gun and built a super fun car. (Correction, I spent an hour and a half building a super fun car!)
Last Tuesday we welcomed a new package straight from Heaven into our Family! McCall Mae was born to Trevor and AshLyn. We are so happy for them and I can’t wait to kiss this little girl and examine her cowlick in person! *Yes, I did notice that cute little swirl in the first picture we got!
Lacey, like the older two kids as babies, is a gem of a sleeper! I hope she doesn’t phase out of this between 12 and 18 months like the other two. I lay her down like this
and find her minutes later like this!
Kevin got this soccer jersey 2 years ago for Christmas. It is his favorite thing on the planet. I wash it ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL the time.
My Mothers Day started early with a Pellet Gun, a dead squirrel, and late night snuggles with Cody and Lace.
And my mothers day was filled with sweet cards,
cute kids, new knives, home made sugar cookies,
and wrapped up with a scrapped knee, early bed time, and a big bowl of ice cream with my Babe!
This week of beautiful weather started with a trip to the zoo.
A train ride
friends over to play
A pool party
Snack time with Lacey.
A new perm for Julia
(I can’t get over how adorable she is!)
and a 2nd trip to the zoo…
which resulted in passed out kids
Life is Great!! We’re blessed and we know it!
