A dance lesson to remember

Today was Julia's first dance lesson. Last night should have been my first sign as to how this was going to go. I was double checking the address at about 9:50 pm when I saw on a different page then the class we had signed up for that the girls were supposed to be in leotards and ballet slippers. Yikes! Knowing of Julia's nervousness already I didn't want to make things any worse on the first day so I needed to find ballet slippers ASAP! After a few phone calls and stopping at two different stores, Walmart totally saved me and when I woke Julia up this morning, She was sooooooooooo excited to get dressed in her dance clothes. I prepped her all morning of what was to come and we left the house 20 minutes early. I put the address in my phone. The place was 12 minutes away. We got on the neighborhood with plenty of time but I could NOT find the building ANYWHERE!!!!!! After driving around, forever and finally 3 phone calls to a friend later we found the place 10 minutes late. As we were pulling up to the building I said to Kevin. We are super late. As soon as I stop unbuckle, jump out, and go up the stairs. I quickly got the girls out and we ran for our lives. Of course the room was packed with Moms and kids so Julia was immediately nervous. I walked her over to get in line and she started crying. So I sat near her. Every time the teacher would say her name she would burst into tears. The last 3 minutes they played duck duck goose. Julia sat in the circle but would not run when she got goosed. At the end the girls got a sticker and Julia was suddenly glowing and sad that she had to take off her ballet slippers. We went outside to play at the near by park and I sat on the bench to call my Mom while the kids played when I realized I didn't have my car keys. I walked over to the car and about died laughing to find Kevin's door wide open, my purse on the front seat, the keys in the ignition, and the GPS saying, "recalculating! Recalculating!" bahahahaha!!!! No wonder Julia was falling apart at dance. Her mother is a complete basket case!!! Next week I have high hopes of things going much smoother. Oh... And to top things off--- Last week we started a swear word jar at our house! And just for clarification, my kids do NOT know any swear words but they have been known to use potty words or words we aren't fond of. For each offense it's five cents. As we were pulling into dance Kevin informed me, "mom, you have to pay the swear word jar two times! I heard you say crap twice!" thanks Kev!!!
