I’m totally aware of the fact that we celebrated our anniversary long ago! November 16… Two months late, not too shabby right? On our Six year anniversary our gifts to each other were our six favorite memories…
Six favorite memories by Jessie
-the week we brought Julia home from the hospital. You were off work and we had ten days before family came to visit. We spent our days absorbing everything about our two little kids, eating ice cream cones, and being together.
-preparing to move to Wisconsin. I was so nervous for the unknown, but knowing we were in it together made everything okay.
-one of our day trips to Lake Geneva. We spent the day picnicking, seeing who could spit water the farthest, and enjoying the beauty of the area.
-buying our house and working on it together. My favorite part of the entire process was when I asked you to help take off the wall paper and you said, "I don't want to, that's too boring!"
-going to Madison as a family. I love when we can sneak off and see new things together as a family.
-going to the airport and watching you do touch and goes. The kids were glowing with excitement to see their Dad doing something so awesome and it was so fun to watch you do something that you love so much!
Favorite Memories. by Cody
-Baseball game in Idaho Falls when we were dating, it was when I realized (our second date) how funny you are and I put my arm around you and kissed you on the cheek.
-Drinking hot chocolate in the garage in IF while I worked on bikes. You would bring me hot chocolate every night and we would freeze our buns off together as I worked on motorcycles.
-Driving out to mke and eating pizza in Billings. Before ordering we had discussed which kind of pizza and which toppings we were going to get. When the waitress arrived I ordered a supreme pizza. You gave me a dirty look and my comment was, “you can pick off whatever you don’t like!” You weren’t very happy and I always order according to plan now.
-When we went for a drive in the rain storm. We lived in West Allis it was about 2:00 in the morning and our first Milwaukee Rain Storm. We were both wide awake watching Kevin kick away in your belly. We went out and drove around driving through great big puddles and flooded under passes.
-Fall motorcycle ride and dinner to Holy Hill. One of our friends watched the kids and we went on a date, and real date. A perfect date.
-Summerfest when you ate the funnel cake. It was at least 100 degrees outside, early July, you were pregnant with Kevin, and we were walking around on hot blacktop, people were guzzling beer like it was be gone tomorrow. Several people had spilled it on your feet. The only thing you wanted to eat was a funnel cake. We walked everywhere looking for them. We found it and you loved it, about two hours later we headed for home and the second we walked in the door you ran to the sink and sent that delicious funnel cake right down the drain. I don’t think you’ve had one since!
BONUS: when you came home with new yoga pants a couple weeks ago.
Exchanging our favorite memories topped any gift I could have given or received. It was so much fun reliving some of our favorite experiences. We laughed and talked and remembered so many other things we hadn’t thought of it quite awhile.
I can’t wait to hear Seven new memories next year!!
I love you Cody.
I am blessed and I know it.
