Friends

When we told the kids we were moving to New Hampshire, Kevin's only request was a going away party. We had just that with all of our awesome friends. (Most of the pictures are on the camera on a moving truck, I'll add those later.) we had Danish Pancakes (crepes), which are Kevin's all time favorites. We had pin the mustache on Kevin, and pin the hair bows on the girls, we had a banner for picture taking, a house full of wild and crazy kids, and we had a going away treat for everyone to take home. It was a huge success. (Note the picture of how Julia fell asleep afterward.)

We were truly blessed with amazing friends in Wisconsin. We had a great turn out at the kids' party, my young women threw me a surprise going away shower/party, we had dozens of people stop by, the kids received little nicnac gifts from tons of their friends as reminders of the fun they had, Kevin's kindergarten class did a going away party and gave Kevin this awesome poster with all of the kids' hand prints on it that said, "hands down, we will miss you!" With chocolate kisses taped to it. His teacher told me a few days before we left that several of the boys were having a hard time with Kevin's move and that she often dealt with tears in class. She said anytime the conversation about moving came up it would always end with one of the boys saying to Miss K, "but he will come back right?!" When she would explain yet again what moving was she would always end up giving some loves to whoever was sad. Kids on Kevin's bus gave him going away treats, his best friend in class Nick R. Made him a bracelet, and his super awesome afternoon bus driver, Ms. Beverly threw him a going away party on the bus on his last day. I was getting worried when the bus was about 10 minutes later than normal, but when the door opened everyone had party hats and blowers. Kevin had a great big bag full of gifts from Miss Beverly with balloons attached to it and Ms. Beverly gave him a fist bump and a hug with tears rolling down her face as she told me how sad she was to see Kevin go. Normally, Kevin is her last drop off and they spend some good quality time chatting. She said, "without Mr. Comedian, there won't be anyone to keep me entertained." So very sweet. Julia had one more girl party with her BFF Olivia and they made necklaces for each other. Every time the necklace is worn, (several times a day.) she tells us how special the necklace is and that no one else has one like it. One friend gave the kids a personalized puzzle of my kids and her kids playing during the summer, another friend wrapped tons of gifts for the kids to open when they got bored on the drive along with a huge container of treats, another friend made the kids car bags which were full of treats, games, dry erase boards, books, stickers, binders with tons of activities on each page. Lacey spent 90% of our drive putting stickers on one piece of paper. she was in heaven. The love was indescribable and overwhelming. We will surely miss all of the wonderful people of Wisconsin.

I need more than that! Are you settling in ok! Aside from wanting to get rid of the left side of your body? That really stinks. We miss you guys. Keep posting!
