As nice as it is to have a pool, I can only swim for so many hours in one day. And to be completely honest, I HATE swimming in hotel pools...ewww! But, we have been swimming oodles of times. Thankfully we brought the big kids life jackets, but I'm kicking myself for not bringing our baby life jacket. Lacey's confidence in the pool is amazing and she jumps in like a crazy woman. Weather or not there is someone there to catch her. Yikes!
Wednesday was my birthday. Cody left early that morning to Massachusetts for a meeting, from there he was going straight to Maine for two days. Due to this long trip, I had to find even more entertainment, there wasn't the break of Dad coming home from work, we have spent about an hour each morning studying about dinosaurs, the kids LOVE this activity. After our Dino study on Wednesday I tried to get the kids to go out and do something fun and they DID not want to go anywhere. So, we didn't, I did some online shopping with my birthday money, we took naps, played with toys, and watched a movie. Just before dinner Julia realized that I didn't have a birthday cake. So, the kids finally wanted to go out to find a cake, we went to Walmart and found some awesome clearance deals and some mini cupcakes. Just as we were leaving Cody called to say that he had finished early and that he was going to drive to our hotel first to have dinner with us them he would head to Maine. Sweet guy made my day. My family celebrated my birthday with me via Skype. They had spaghetti and donuts with candles. YUM! Thursday we spent the day at the oober filthy laundromat. Gross! But getting all of our laundry done in record time was fabulous! Aunt Jordin has called several times and face timed with the kids. One night they did projects together for two hours, oh my goodness. Jordin totally saved my sanity that night. I was dying! We have spent tons of times doing paper airplane races and matchbox car races in the hallway. Almost every afternoon we walk down to the front desk for a warm cookie and a hot chocolate. We have also had arm wrestling tournaments. Julia's exact words through her sobbing was, "but Dad, you're being toooo strong!" Kevin jumped in and helped and they won, hands down! We have spent tons of time in the car... Poor kiddies. Don't they look miserable? And every single day I have said, "what would I do without my Kevin boy." He is an amazing helper!
