The kids warmed right up to Grandma and Grandpa Oborn. Kevin loved following one step behind Grandpa as he weeded and watered all of his flowers. And each time we came or went it was full of good byes and big hugs.
We didn't want to wear out our welcome at Grandma and Grandpa's so we made sure to make our presence known at my good friend, Marci's house. Our kids are all close in age and the girls enjoyed a fashion show while the boys were busy with a mud puddle in the back yard. Thank you Corey and Marci for letting us bombard your home and stay until we had way over stayed our welcome. We had so much fun.
Each of my Dad's brothers and their wives welcomed us into their homes one night while we were there. The kids loved meeting them and also liked how much they looked like and or acted like Pa. Thank you all for welcoming us in, feeding us so well, and allowing my kids to burn off their extra energy in your yards.
We were at my Uncle Dave's house on the day of Lacey's real birthday. Although
it was very low key, it did not go unnoticed. she loved blowing out her candle, 5 or 6 times.I could kick myself for not getting any pictures of my kids with my Grandparents. But I love these with proof that they were indeed in their home.
Who is this you ask? well, he was the reason for our trip. He had to be in Denver for 8 days for work, so we joined him for the whole eight days. Sadly, we did not see him for even a whole 30 hours in those eight days. It made for a very long month of August. We went from July 29-September 3 of only seeing him for those thirty hours. To say the least, I was tired of being the Mom when it was all over.
I SWORE I would NEER go to Dinosaur Ridge again in my life...but, we decided to take our kids on the bus tour. The girls were less than impressed but Cody, Kevin and I really enjoyed it.
