I can see clearly now...

I was scheduled for LA$IK eye surgery on Valentines Day. It just so happened that during the night before and that morning we were hit with about a foot of snow. My saint of a neighbor, Karen came over first thing in the morning and stayed with all of our kids all day so Cody could take me.(I often wondered why we ended up in the house we did when there was another house I loved
So much more. I know now that I needed to by in this house because I needed my awesome neighbors, Shawn and Karen in my life. They have helped me through so much, from eye surgery, to doctors appointments, hockey practices, date nights, baby blues, and school pick ups. I never would have survived my first year in New Hampshire without them. I'm a changed person from having met them. They are great examples and great friend. I feel blessed to have them in our life.)
As you would expect, the kids did not miss us one bit and had a ball playing.

Due to the snow storm, the doctors flight was delayed getting in which pushed things back two hours, but once things got going, it went quickly. The whole surgery was five minutes or less for both eyes. It was amazing. Crazy, but sooo amazing. Immediately following surgery I had eye shields taped to my face and was sent out the door to find my hubby in the car. At that point my eyes were exhausted and I was a bit dazed by how quickly things has just moved and was having a hard time wrapping my brain around everything I had just experienced. Not to mention, it was now 1:45 and I hadn't had anything to eat since 6:30 that morning and I was about to eat my fingers I was so hungry. I climbed in the truck, reclined my seat and demanded food. I kept my eyes closed, but while sitting in the drive thru, curiosity got the best of me and I peeked out. To my amazement I read a billboard across the street and a block or two up as if it were a paper right in front of my face. It was thrilling. I was instructed to keep my eyes closed for 3-5 hours and was told the the longer they were closed, the quicker the healing process. I was determined to be in tip top shape ASAP so I followed the rules to a T and was blessed with amazing success. I opened my eyes after about 4 hours to thank our Branch President for coming over to help haul out an old oven and haul in a new one, ate dinner and then kept my eyes closed until morning. That morning I drove myself two hours to my follow up appointment and was shocked to hear 19 hours after surgery my vision was 20/15. I can see so much better that I could with my glasses or contacts. It has been life changing and I think I've driven anyone that will listen batty. It is just so amazing. I feel so blessed to have been able to do this. My life has definitely changed for the better!!
(4 hours after surgery I texted this picture to my Daddy to let him know I could see!!)
