My dream come true

I've been dreaming for quite some time of a little romantic get away; just me, myself, and my husband. It seemed so unattainable. Until, this summer, I was chatting it up with my amazing Sister in law, and she made my dream come true by saying she would come kid sit for us. Not only that, but she stayed for ten whole days and played with me too. I had so much fun with her. It was fabulous. But, back to our trip. We left our house as soon as the kiddies were off to school and went and visited the Boston Harley dealership and enjoyed a super yummy lunch of steak tips. (I'm drooling, just thinking about it!) after we were stuffed to the rafters, we went to the Boston LDS Temple and did Sealings. It was wonderful. A man from our ward was officiating and it was so fun to be there with him and his wife.

We stayed that night in Boston at a fancy schmancy hotel and due to the fact we were still stuffed from lunch we enjoyed some Olympic half pipe and had a late dinner at the hotel. Another delectable meal.

We ordered moulton chocolate cake to have for desert up in our room but we were so stuffed we saved it and had it the next morning for my birthday breakfast. It was super yummy.

We were off to the Paul Revere house in downtown Boston. This picture was taken in eh the most expensive parking garage I've ever parked in. Figured we better get our monies worth.

The Paul Revere house was super neat. I especially enjoyed the original cobblestone road out front.

We then enjoyed a little bit of touristy, sight seeing. I watched this episode of The Shark Tank, along with almost all the other episodes ever aired! :) and we enjoyed a yummy Thai lunch. Oh, it was good. It was so weird to go wherever we wanted, whenever we wanted and not have to worry about snacks, and potties, and naps. I swear I said 1,000 times, " I can't believe I'm here, with you, without any kids. " it was 5 years in the making!!!

That afternoon we drove to Sunday River in Maine, rented skis and checked into the lodge. It was a fun, stinky, kind of old lodge. But, served its purpose and we made some fun memories. The next morning we were one of the firsts up the lift in nice fresh powder. And I'm certain I was one of the firsts to bounce off of three mogles and summersalt down 1/2 of the hill. Holy moly. The only thing I could think was, "protect your eyes!!!!!" Skiing 7 days post eye surgery is probably not the norm. :) we skied until I fell and couldn't get back up without assistance, and then we did one more run. Like really, I couldn't get back up. I was laughing so hard and Cody finally had to lean over and pick me up. If was hilarious and awful, but mostly hilarious.

After returning our skis, we made our way half way home and hobbled in to the hotel for a soak in the hot tub. So refreshing on my oh so sore muscles!!! We went on a whim to see robo cop, enjoyed one last meal kid free and one last night of sleeping all through the night. We wrapped up our trip with a sledding trip with the youth from church. I was so anxious and ready to be home by the time we got home. I kissed my little babies faces off!!! It was by far the most refreshing, rejuvenating, bonding experience. It definitely won't be five years before we go again. We are blessed and we know it. Thanks Shasta!!!
