March came in like a lion and out like a lion. Instead of getting gloomy and down in the dumps, which a long winter tends to do to me, we made the most of it!
- Dinner with friends
-skiing, lots of skiing and sledding. One night the local hill had a 4th of July activity with a huge firework display. They also had Halloween on the Hill, a thanksgiving feast, and an Easter Dinner. They were great activities to participate in while the weather was still crummy.
-We Cody became proud owners of a back hoe
-We spent a ton of time sick. The flu wiped us out in February and then came back to haunt us in March. There were lots of stomach cramps, headaches, fevers, and breathing treatments.
-Kevin lost his top two teeth. Ironically, they fell out one year to the day from his bottom two teeth. Kind of funny that the Leprechaun and tooth fairy have met twice at our house.
-We visited the Children's museum and were somewhat surprised to find our mark from our last visit still hanging on the wall.
-We had Pizza Parties
-Piano Lessons
-Family photos
-Visits from the tricky Leprechaun, Link.
And then---
Mom quit. She packed up her bags and the youngest babe and boarded a plane to go party with one of her dear friends in Denver. She was greeted with sunshine, smiles, late nights, laughter, deep conversations, and lots of love. After spending a few days with Marci, I met up with my Parents, two Sisters, Niece, and Nephew and stayed at my grandparents house for a few days. It was so relaxing, rejuvenating, and.....Weird! I was only responsible for one little child that likes me and wants to stay close. It was weird. We left with sun kissed cheeks and a skip in our step.
After returning home-
I jumped ship again and joined some great ladies from our Branch for a Mom's night. I devoured the yummiest of Black Bean Burgers, brought my A game at bowling, licked the bottom of my Frozen yogurt bowl, laughed, talked, and crawled into bed way past my bedtime.
-The next morning we hosted the Branch Primary/Neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt. There were 650 eggs, 24 kids, 17 adults, and lots and lots of pancakes.
**This goes without saying, Cody is a rock star! He and the kids had so much fun while I was away. I'm certain they'll let me go again this month! ;) While I was gone they went four-wheeling/sledding out on the pond. They made home made cookies, had several movie nights, he put pony tails in Julia's hair, took them sledding, and even had them read at night. The icing on the cake. I came home to not only a clean house, but he hung the bead board and chair rail in the laundry room and built a ski rack for the garage, so all of our skis are hanging all pretty like on the wall.
I hit jack pot with this guy, I tell you!
