(Not to forget Cody got a little out of control with the chain saw. EWW! It was gross, but he pulled through! Thanks to our awesome Elders for helping us cut down all the wayward trees in our neighborhood.)
Labor day was anything but laborious. We were sure to
squeeze in every ounce of fun humanly possible!!! We started early each morning
and ended much to late every evening, but it was therapeutic and very needed.
We wrapped up our first week of school with a back to school smore party with
all of our church friends. It was oh so delicious (ritz cracker, with a melted
caramel and a marshmallow, I think I need another STAT!) The kids played night
games well into the night, hyped up on sugar, and playing No Bears are out
tonight proves to be both loud, and so so so fun! The next morning we took some
of our junk to a friend’s house for a yard sale. We ended up enjoying the
sunshine and their company for half of the day in their driveway. Later we had
promised our kids a swim in Connor Pond after we dropped a few goods at a
friends house. The quick drop turned into our kids wading into their pond,
catching frogs, (Julia kissed the great big one!) which turned into a warm
toasty fire, hot dogs, and marshmallows. We way over stayed our welcome and
left at dark:30. But it was so much fun!!
Sunday we enjoyed church and then had all of our neighbor friends over
for S’more party take two! It was equally as delicious and we once again stayed
up way past our bedtime. I can’t recall what exactly we did on Labor day
itself, but I know we enjoyed every second. I’m 99.9% sure that a dip in the
Lake was involved and I’m 100% sure it was very enjoyable.
The middle of September also included a playgroup, geared
for the Mom’s out on Sara’s boat. It was SO.MUCH.FUN! We boated for several hours. The little kids
all took turns on the tube, Elena, did not surprise me with a long enjoyable
ride out on the tube all by herself! She loved every single second, and we
eventually just called it quits so someone else could have a turn. I waterskied
for the first time since before Kevin was born and I did my first running front
flip down the water slide. It was the best day!!! The girls were so cooperative
and I canNOT thank Sara enough. She was leaving the next day for a family trip
and we stayed way late, but I enjoyed every bit.
That same weekend we went out on our neighbors boat for our
last boating hoorah! The weather was gorg and we all spent time tubing and
jumping off of the boat in the delightful water.
September I tried my darndest to hold on to and use every
ounce of summer humanly possible!! I dare say we did it! See you next year
September. We loved every second of you!
