She's three!

This third birthday was talked about for about six months. Ten times a day for six whole months.

My little Laney baby was dead set on a "Boo take with boo fosting!" One day while shopping in February I caught a blue cake mix out of the corner of my eye and snagged two of them. They did NOT disappoint. On the morning of Elena's birthday we had some friends over for brunch, it's a brunch that we hold every year and I did not realize until the night before that it was landing on Elena's birthday. The little lady was on cloud 9 thinking that everyone came for her. In her eyes it was the grandest of birthdays. 

The blue cake and blue frosting was really all that she cared about and she devoured several pieces of it. 

She had requested a new flashlight for her birthday and would have been pleased as punch if that was all we had gotten her, but since Christmas we had been borrowing a friends scooter and so it was high time we returned it and we got her a new pink scooter. She rides it all the time and is so good on it. We have so much fun watching her.

At Three:

Elena had to have her two front teeth pulled two weeks before her third birthday. She had fallen while ice skating and the strap to her helmet was in her mouth, when she fell she bit down on the buckle to the straps and fractured one tooth and killed the other. She was so brave getting her teeth pulled. It was amazing. 

At Three:

Elena was able to start preschool and she loooooooves going. She reminds her teachers on the daily that she is a big girl now. She loves joining the big kids and loves learning new things. After her second or third day of school she came home writing her E's and her L's. She identifies them where ever we go. 

At Three:

She refers to herself as Nene and often calls Kevin, "My Kevin Boy." She's quite protective of "My Sisters." and she loves being involved in whatever the three older kids are doing. She absolutely adores her Dad and as soon as Cody drives up or walks in the door she throws her arms in the air and screams, "Daddy Home!"

At Three:
Elena says the most darling prayers on planet earth. She wants to say every single prayer and always ends them with throwing her arms in the air and exclaiming, "AMEN!"

Shows

and bedtime snuggles

She is always saying super funny things and since her teeth have been pulled she's been easily frustrated as it's been more difficult to understand what she is saying.

Happy Birthday to my sweet little Baby Girl. 

I just don't think I'll ever comprehend how it happened so fast.
