Spring Break

For Spring break we decided to take the little jog up to Quebec City. It was so breath taking. I'm dying to go back kidless so we can walk a million miles and truly see everything there is to see.
The kids did awesome and rode their scooters through town but it was freeezing cold and their little legs can only go so many miles. We enjoyed walking around the wall of the city and reading about the history. We also enjoyed a ferry ride over to the town of Levi's at sunset, we dined at our fancy hotel restaurant, and ate the most divine crepes. They were so yummy I crave them on the regular. It would almost be worth the 5 hour drive to go back for more. They were amazing. We also hit up a big fancy mall and enjoyed their indoor theme park. Each of the kids were able to ride a few rides and they enjoyed them all. I love how magical life is through the eyes of my kids. On our last day the weather was especially brutal so we ended up just hitting the road for home. Cody had to do some work in Vermont so we stopped at the Cabot Cheese tour. We enjoyed many different flavors of cheese and couldn't leave without a few specialty flavors tucked into our cooler. We then headed up for a night and then left for Rhode Island. For some reason, Rhode Island holds a magical corner of my heart. I love it there. We had a very enjoyable time. We dined at Olive Garden when we arrived. our kids have no recollection of ever eating there, but we let them each order their own kids meal which they all found to be liberating. Making their own choices is such an important part of their day and they each enjoyed relaying their decisions to the waiter. Cody was in meetings all day both days, but we still made the most of it in an overly fancy hotel where I had to tell me kids to be quiet in the pool. (Not really my style!)
We did enjoy donuts for breakfast two mornings in a row, six hours of the zoo, a walk to the mall for dinner where everyone got to pick their own dinner. (I think it was a personal favorite for Kevin and Julia.) The next day we found a magical path in a magical park and the kids scootered/roller bladed until I could no longer keep up then we went and fetched Cody from his final meetings and stopped for lunch and hot fudge sundaes before making our way home.
As it would turn out, I quite enjoy spending time with my hubby. I love having his undivided attention and I loved playing with my kids without a care in the world or a house that needed cleaning. It was quite an enjoyable week.
