Did I say Play? HA!!! More like work their hindy's off!!!
So, here's the scoop. We've been working on our house like crazy people so that when Cody changes positions with Harley we will be ready to sell it. (Did I fail to mention he turned down the job in Florida? It was way to much travel for our liking, and the more Cody has been traveling lately, we learned the Kevin does NOT handle good byes well at ALL, we practically rip his heart out every time Cody leaves. We just knew it wasn't the answer to our prayers. So we continue to look.) Our projects are dwindling, (Can I get a
hallelujah!!!!) the next items on our list were the bathrooms, which we new needed some serious updating.
So, AFTER Cody's parents confirmed their trip with the purchase of plane tickets and the day before they were coming we dropped the bomb shell of "Can you help us redo our bathrooms?" They may never buy plane tickets to visit us again. EVER!
After Cody picked them up from the airport (the longest 1 hour of Kevin and Julia's life) and feeding their bellies, we got right to work.
Kevin was super excited to be the helper! He got the first whack on the shower tile.
Then Cody and Grandpa got to work and Kevin got to pick up all the tiles and fill the garbage cans with them. Kevin never complained once. He did say on morning #2 when it was just he and Grandpa working together, "This is so fun, Kevin and Kevin working together!"
We were totally blessed for this project. We decided on a Friday night to re do the bathrooms while Cody's parents were here, I asked Cody to look on craigslist to see if anyone had a miss order shower/ tub insert they were selling for cheap and low and behold, $275 for a brand new one regularly priced at 599. We went and picked it up and we walked away with it for a whole $200.00!!! Then, when it came time for the vanity, Holy Moly! Them babies are pricey. There were two of the same one at Menards one had 2 small scratches in the drawers, and I talked them into giving me $40.00 off! Yeah baby! We were saving money left and right. (Not to mention we were spending it twice as fast! :) )
Our original plan was to completely re do both bathrooms, but after putting my Mother in Law to work in the master bath, she was able to clean the sink and the shower til it was sparkling so we only repainted and tiled in there. (Bless you Lori!) Not to mention, one of the days I had a nasty, gnarly, migraine and everyone worked their hind ends off while I passed out on the couch!
The end result,
AHHH!!!!
Absolutely perfect!!!!
Kevin and Lori, we can't thank you enough. Words can not express our gratitude. We never would have made it with out you.
We are blessed and we know it!
