About an hour after the big kids fell asleep Lacey Baby woke up. She was just in time to Face Time with Daddy. She laid on my lap and giggled at her Daddy. Talking non stop gibberish. Her Dad was blowing kisses into the phone and making funny faces and Lacey was all over it.
After I hung up, she laid in my arms and I cuddled her and enjoyed her and soaked up every ounce of her. Then she started tugging on my ears, and my hair, and poking my eyes out. It's one of her favorite games these days. She knows her eyes, ears, nose, mouth, hair, head, and sometimes teeth and tongue. She will play for EVER! If I'm holding her but directing my attention else where she will grab my face between her two ity bity hands and make me look at her and she will start playing. I LOVE IT! I'm sad she'll grow out of it. I just never want to forget it! She seems to comprehend and understand so much right now. If you ask her how old she is she holds up her index finger with a great big smile. If you ask her if she is hungry she will nod yes or no, same with foods, banana? apple? beans? She will answer with a yes or a no. In the bath last night I washed her hair and when she laid down to rinse it out it wasn't all out when she sat up. I said, "Uh oh, we need to rinse again, can you lay down?" She nodded her head and laid back down in the water. When she is sleepy I say, "are you ready for bed?" She will crawl over to me and grab her bottle and usually pat me on the back as we walk to her room. She is all cuddles and loves. She loves loving on Kevin and Julia. She always hugs and kisses Kevin before he boards the bus in the morning. When Julia is on the floor Lacey Baby will climb all over her kissing her everywhere and hugging her tightly. As a mother, it brings me so much joy. Reminds me why I am exhausted and confirms how worth all the stress is.
breakfast in bed
This morning I was greeted at an absurd hour by two sweet babies that had already slept for 11 hours. I on the other hand had slept for 4. Blast you COLD! Kevin and Julia had made me breakfast in bed. Nothing but the finest for their sweet mother! Kevin made me a piece of bread, half of it was butter and the other peanut butter. I folded it in half and although butter doesn't do much for me, chowed it right down, when in walked my sweet Julia with another breakfast delight. She carried a piece of bread evenly buttered from corner to corner with nearly half a cube of butter. I took it from her, she leaned up against the bed with her chin in her hands with the biggest smile and most loving eyes I'd ever seen. I had to enjoy every bite of the delicacy she had spent so much time preparing for me. Thankfully Kevin walked in just then with a big glass of water for me. As much as I dislike Butter in larger quantities, I was on cloud 9 that my kids would do something so sweet for me. The entire morning went that way. They both jumped to at chore time, Kevin did his homework lickety split, and Julia was more than willing to putter and speak in her sweetest voice ever.
These are the moments I want to remember. These are the moments I live for. These are the moments that make all the other "moments" so worth every moment!
I am blessed and I know it!
