The beginning of the best Christmas ever!!

We have a nativity display at church every year. This year I told Cody "we are going, we are going to kick of December spiritual and teach our kids the true meaning of Christmas." After having walked around and enjoyed all 233 nativities we sat down to enjoy a cookie and watch the love nativity that was set to happen any minute. We weren't in a rush but we had just woke Lacey up from her 3rd interrupted nap of the day to discover her gums are bulging with 4 or 5 new teeth. About 10 minutes after go time a frantic sister walked up and explained that Mary, Joseph, and Baby Jesus never showed and would we mind filling in? We were rushed to the costume room where we were frantically dressed and given a quick run down as to our role for the live nativity. It was as easy as sit down before everyone else. Walk off stage before everyone else. Lacey was the babe, after being pushed out of our spot in the line up we ended up waiting about an hour to go on stage. Lucky for us my friend Megan walked in about this time, she was next in line to sing, she went and talked to the upper ups and asked if the Nativity could go before her. (bless you Megan!) Thankfully at this time we overheard someone say, "tonight we will only do this once instead of the planned two times due to the bump in the schedule!" i think Cody nearly jumped for joy!!! by this point, Baby Jesus was done! Seconds before I was supposed to be walking on stage I ran to fill up a cup with water. Seeing the cup of water Lacey calmed down and went to drinking. Spiritual? lacey was drinking from a plastic Dixie cup, crinkling it, and played with my watch to keep her from screaming. Julia walked on stage watching Dora on my phone because she was hot and she needed help with her sweatshirt. And i had a hard time controlling my laughter because it was anything but spiritual. When we were finished and taking our clothes off the costume lady walks in and says, "boy!!! That was stressful! Hopefully tomorrow night we will be more in tune with our parts!" Thankfully, tomorrow night we are not in the cast!!!! :)

Ahh!! I love my life and I'm glad I'm spending it with Cody. He makes the journey so enjoyable. We are blessed and we know it!!!

It may have been the best live nativity I have ever seen! You guys were like the National Lampoons Christmas Vacation version of the nativity. Highlight of my night!
