Time to get caught up!

I'm way behind on my blogging! So, here is the quick version of catching up!

-St. Patricks Day has come and gone and our little Leprechaun Stumpy McDoodles did NOT disappoint. Coloring our food green, our milk green, toilet papering us, sending us on a shamrock hunt, as well as leaving us treats. I have heard many people complain about people making such a big deal about little holidays. Of which I say, to each their own. I personally think making a big deal out of little Holidays is one of the things that makes the long mundane days of motherhood more bearable, and it also gives me an extra reason to think about my children and spouse individual. Plus, who doesn't love a house full of giggles and excitement, for little to no effort. We had a branch talent show a few days before the big day and Kevin and Julia displayed their traps in the craft portion. They were very proud of their creations, and I was very pleased with myself for allowing them to make them all by themselves. If you know me, NOT EASY!! One thing i relearned on the big day of green, if I color my children's food any color but it's natural color, it is sure to be devoured.

-Lacey baby is pure entertainment these days. She is so dang attached to her blanket and her bottle it isn't even funny. Once we thought we would be brave and take the bottle a way and a few hours later we realized that it was the craziest idea we had ever had to try to take a bottle away when her life has been so crazy. Since she is sleeping through the night, we decided we would wait until after we've adjusted to a new baby and then re think our bottle plan. Who knows, she may be the 5 year old with a bottle. Ask me if Im worried... I'm not! Lacey has learned to undress herself. She loves taking her shirts off during nap time and if she didn't succeed, you can bet that she is sporting a new style. Lacey is also a huge helper these days. She sets the table all by herself and loves emptying the silverware from the dishwasher. She copies everything she hears. Her favorite word right now is SUPAH! Which is Cody's fancy way of saying super. She also says, delicious, and Okey!! (Just like a true wisconsinite!) Lacey has always been my calm. When things are hairy scary around here she seems to bring me peace. I can snuggle her and smell her for hours and hours. One things that has bugged me is that she is so in tune to how I am feeling. If I breathe deep, or rest on the couch or anything out of the norm, she will say, "hurt?" and it makes me so sad, yet is so tender. If I say yes, she will give me a big hug, if I say no, she says, "Okey!" and goes about her business. Another thing that bugs me, I can't be more than two feet from Lacey or she is crying and saying, "mommy! HOLD YOU!!!"

-Julia is finally out of her funk. Woooweee. Was that awful. She is the sweetest thing on the planet. Every morning she gets up and makes her bed before coming upstairs. A few nights ago she had an accident and before coming up she stripped her sheets and brought them up and put them in the laundry first thing. She loves helping in the kitchen, vacuuming, cleaning the bathrooms, anything I'm doing she loves helping. A few days ago we gave her a haircut. We had been growing her hair out and although it was really starting to get long, it just wasn't fitting for her personality and of course I cut it back into an A line, it's just so her!!! We also dressed her up with some feathers in her hair. She's all girl!!!

-Pictures are hard to come by these days of my Kevin boy. He doesn't sit for 5 seconds. I LOVE our yard, as does he. He is always out exploring with the neighbor kids. He is full of teasing these days and thinks all rules apply to everyone but him. He has experienced his first grounding which I think was equally as awful for me!!! But in the same sentence, he is still my sweetest boy ever. He is kind and compassionate, and will do anything for his sisters. Well, for anyone really. Yesterday the dryer beeped while he was walking by so he emptied everything into a laundry basket and put it on my bed for me. I have to keep reminding myself that we will get through this phase, and remember all the kind things he does do. During nap time yesterday I snuck down and took this picture of my baby boy that is no longer a baby. I love him more than candy filled ice cream, and that's saying something! :)

More to come soon....LOTS MORE
