Maine

We went back to Maine this last weekend. Cody had to stop in at a dealership late in the afternoon on Friday so the kids and I jumped in with him. With all of Cody's reward points we were able to stay in a hotel for free. Made for an inexpensive staycation!

Lacey was fighting sleep like crazy. She slept for about two minutes doing the head bob and then she was hit with a second wind of crazy-ness.

We stopped at LL Bean.

And hit the beach twice. It was the favorite part of the whole weekend and we had only planned on going on Friday, but nothing we were taking the kids to do cared to them. They just wanted the beach, and for free.99, we obliged on Saturday too.

Saturday Lacey refused her swim suit. She wanted to carry it around but not wear it.

Kevin collected soooooo many things. I only allowed him to bring home two things from each day. He was in heaven. Cody took Kevin and Julia out pretty deep and jumped waves with them several times. They were in heaven.

The first day we have no pictures of, Lacey loved digging in the sand. The second day she stuffed cookies in like a crazy person,

And spent the rest of the time mad because she wanted to play in the water but not get wet! Seriously!

We had a lot of fun, but little babies on a windy beach don't mix. I didn't get to do much but watch everyone else play and work at keeping Elena happy and protected from the wind/mini sand storms.

Monday morning started off exciting. A snapping turtle dug a hole and laid eggs in my neighbors flower bed. Then later in the day Kevin was able to hold a baby chipmunk that they accident washed up from a hole the kids had filled with water. Thankfully the Mama chipmunk came and rescued the babies once it quieted.

Our AC is not working upstairs and Saturday and Sunday were in the 90s. We spent most of our time in the cool 65 degree basement. Go figure the AC works fine down there were it stays cool on its own.

Cody and I started month two of insanity yesterday. I'm sooooo sore I feel like I may die. This afternoon I decided to go for a walk to try to loosen up some muscles, it helped in a huge way and the kids had fun too.

And once again I enjoyed the beauty of the earth.

A few things happened today- one, I learned that My third born is as stubborn as my second, YIKES!
two- Elena found her voice and cooed and laughed with me for quite some time.
Three- Kevin went to the bathroom outside, it being super windy caused the little neighbor boy to get splashed in the face. Eww! (For real, I never dreamed of having to deal with that! Aside from apologizing, what can be done?!)
Four- Julia is back to never sleeping. Ugh! She went to bed at 10 was up at 1:45 and then 4:10, and then 4:50. At which point I don't think she went back to sleep again.
And last- Elena found hear voice today and cooed and laughed with me for a good hour before falling asleep.
I sure do love all of my people, regardless of the stress they cause!!

I am blessed to be their MaMa and I know it!
