Once we arrived in Atlanta we met with up Uncle Logan and Aunt Katie.
Katie's mother was kind enough to keep our kids while we went out for all you can eat wings. It was lovely. Later on in the trip, Elena kept asking if she could go play with Emmy and her Mimaw.
We met up the second day at The World of Coke. One word to describe it, AWESOME!
We met with outside with Dr. John Pemberton, the inventor of Coca Cola. He didn't have a whole lot to say and Elena was scared of him, so we moved onto the all of the Christmas ornaments. Lacey was not entertained with them and refused to have her picture taken, but the rest of the kids enjoyed climbing inside of them. Elena finished up our out door tour with a little downward dog underneath a bottle cap.
Once inside we snapped a picture with the famous Polar Bear, Elena was once again TERRIFIED!!!! we enjoyed a couple of fun movies, (I may have cried during the first one!) and the second was a 4D movie that was so fun. We saw the high security vault that holds the secret recipe, enjoyed some Coca-Cola Memorabilia from years past, and wrapped up our tour with unlimited taste testing of Coke products from around the world. Some were awful and disgusting and others were oh so delicious. Lacey's favorite was Mr. Pibb and after one tiny taste she kept asking for more, so I refilled with Root Beer and she kept telling everyone, "This Dr. Pepper is so good!" Kevin and Julia thought the endless supply of Coke and a Mom that wasn't stopping them was the best ever and Elena kept saying, "eww!! It's too spicy!" Upon exiting you get to take your very own Coke, bottled in a glass, that says World of Coke on it and we were lucky enough that our sweet Taylor Swift had been doing a campaign with Coke and had a bunch of left over cans of Diet Coke and we all got to "share a diet-coke with Taylor." Such a sweet heart she is! My kids thought for sure they had hit jackpot! TWO caffeinated beverages to go, along with an unlimited supply moments before. It's no wonder they ask for a Coke everywhere we go. Sorry, kids!!
The kids wrapped up our stay with a dip in the freezing out door pool and an early bedtime.
Hotlanta was great, thanks for the fun day, Katie and Logan!
